(Rylie's POV)
Her tears started pooling in her eyes as she saw that familiar face. She thought she would never see him again! Those blond hairs and those green eyes. She can't be wrong. Even though he was sporting long blond hair and hadn't shaved. She knew from her heart who he was.
Kelly is kneeling in front of him. There was a shocked expression on the border patrol woman.
But Rylie didn't care. She was just delighted that she saw her father again!
"Dad!"
She ran towards him. Almost tripping from running without looking where she was going.
Kelly immediately stood up and stepped to the side to make way for her.
Rylie searched her father's eyes and his body. He was skinny and looked like he didn't shower for a year. But it doesn't matter because she misses him so much.
Rylie hugged him, but cold steel stopped her.
Her eyes widened when she saw a steel stab in his stomach. Her body goes cold with realization and with a trembling hand. She reached out to try and take the steel out, but her father grabbed her hands.
He shook his head at her. "L-Let me die here."
"N-No......No...." Rylie looked at her father, then at Kelly. Tears started to form in the corner of her eyes.
Kelly looked away, and she knew all too well that guilty look. Her heart sunk to her stomach. Then the anger came so suddenly that she couldn't stop herself.
She stood up and grabbed Kelly's shoulder tightly. Kelly winced but didn't stop her.
"Why?! Why did you stab my father?!" Rylie shouted. "What did he ever do to you!?"
"Rylie.... She didn't do it on purpose...I tried to kill her...."
Rylie couldn't believe what her father said. She let go of Kelly and turned towards him. Her mouth opened and closed like a fish.
He coughed blood, and Aly held his upper body right.
Rylie crouched down and helped Aly support her father's body.
"W-Why? H-How?" She turned towards Kelly with her eyebrows furrowed. Her heart squeezed.
She closed her hands tightly into a fist. It's the only thing that keeps her from lashing out.
"H-He's under a command, Rylie. T-The leader of this coven is a Were-witch." Kelly uttered, bowing her head the whole time.
"Were-witch?" Aly said, and they all looked at Kelly.
"W-What is that supposed to mean?!" She shouted at Kelly. Her eyes started blurring. Then she crouched lower and tried to pull out the steel, but her father held it to his body. "J-Just help me. Get this thing out!"
"R-Rylie.... J-Just let me die here."
Rylie shook her head. She jerked and looked up when she felt a hand tap her shoulders. Her eyes still blurring, but she saw Alpha Gab's concerned face.
Alpha Gab shook her head.
Rylie looked away.
She doesn't want pity from anyone.
"What happened, Scott?" Alpha Gab looked at her father and held his hands.
"Don't ask him that! We need to heal him!" Rylie pushed Alpha Gab. She doesn't care if she's the Alpha. She wants to save her father! If they don't think her father had a chance of surviving, she will always try!
