"Wow. I'm scared." Nora looked at them one by one before she turned towards Aly. "There's many wolfies around."
Then the heretic witch snickered.
Aly didn't take her eyes off of Nora. She knew that behind the cloak of dark and cloudy mist. The heretic witch had and escort of her coven surrounding the whole place. If they are not careful they would be executed right away.
They already put wolfs bane inside the bodies of the were-witches they captured and now they lay docile on the ground. Before they could secure the two were-witches. The dark cloudy mist engulf the two bodies and Aly saw shadows moved. It's clearly the heretic witch's coven members taking the were-witches away.
"We delivered what you want. Now, can you test the vials?"
Nora's lips draw into a thin line. "Well. Give me a few weeks. I'll tell you by a whisper of a crow when it's ready."
Her eyebrows furrowed and the rest of the pack looked at each other. Aly shook her head.
"How are you going to do that?"
"Well. I have a spy among you and the spy knew when to do that."
Nora looked at Nathan, Hunter, Kelly and the rest of the pack. Aly gritted her teeth.
The heretic witch is planting an idea inside her mind and she knew that trust is a vital piece in their pack. There was no way that it could be allowed to happen. The Alpha's voice of command is solid and if someone disobeys the magic inside their body would kill them first.
"You lying piece of shit." Aly fisted her hands.
She knew very well that Nora is trying to tear the pack apart by saying that. Maybe out of amusement or just her simple animosity with the werewolf. But there's a part of Aly that makes her feel that there was something else in Nora's statement that she needs to be cautious of.
Who to trust?
Aly looked at the faces of her pack.
She saw Hunter's face was red as a tomato and his hands are closed so hard that his knuckles were turning white. Aly knew he was just stopping himself to say curse word.
This bad b*itch!
Then she heard Hunter cursed again inside their mindlink. He was cursing a lot that it was hard for Aly to keep up with his words.
While Nathan was biting his lips and doesn't want to look at the witch. He must have remembered about the betrayal. About the vials that was stolen. The only freedom Macey could have gotten if they had it.
Kelly was the only one openly looking at the witch with so much hatred in her eyes. Aly knew that Kelly was blaming herself for what happened to Macey.
Aly's temper was rising fast and she was breathing hard trying to calm herself down. Her sweat came trickling down her forehead as she willed herself not to attack.
Nora slowly took her eyes away from her pack mates. Then her lips tugged up in a corner. "It's true. Once this all blows up. You will know who it is."
Aly dashed to Nora but she was stopped when Kelly held her arms. Her fangs extended she whipped her head towards Kelly. The storm in her yellow eyes didn't died down. It only intensifies as she can feel her anger directed to the witch extends to Kelly. Her own pack mate.
"Kelly. Let go."
"Aly. We can't risk the antidotes. It's Macey's only way of becoming human again. She's just trying to rile you up to let all of our sacrifices go to waste. You don't want that to happen right?"
She stopped for a moment and lowered her head down. She breathed deeply and exhaled loudly. When her breathing calmed down she glared at the heretic witch.
Kelly is right. They don't have to be irrational. Even though her instincts tells her to attack the heretic with right now.
"That's right, Aly. I have the upper hand here. So please me." Nora's eyes became narrowed. "But a deal is a deal. I'm sorry that I made a little fun out of your serious asses. I'll get back to the lab to do some experiments. I'll see what I can do."
The heretic witch turned her back and it was so easy for Aly to just attack Nora right there but she looked away. The mist slowly engulfed the witch and she disappeared into the dark. Then the whole place became sunny again. They are in the middle of the meadow with different color of flowers.
"That bitch she was playing with us. She knew that a pack needs to trust each other to protect each other." Hunter stomped the ground. "I want to smack her smug face."
"Careful, Hunter. The heretic could still be watching you. Watch your mouth." Kelly hushed him.
Hunter glared at Kelly but didn't say anything.
"Let's go." Aly nodded her head to the direction of the pack.
They all nodded their head and Nathan was still silent. He didn't utter a word despite all their commotions before. Aly felt guilty for what Nora said to them. Nathan was the one who was so affected by it all. His daughter became a were-witch and he couldn't do nothing to make Macey felt better.
Aly walked besides Nathan and squeezed his shoulders. "What are you thinking?"
Nathan turned towards her and gave her a small smile. "N-Nothing really. I just want everything to get back to normal."
"Everything will be alright." Aly looked into Nathan's eyes. "I promise."
Nathan nodded his head. "Thanks, Beta."
Aly smiled. She nodded her head too and ran towards the direction of the pack. The others did the same and transformed into their own werewolf forms.
------
Aly looked outside of the small cabin she had. She's been thinking all day about Rylie. It's been two days since. She knew she ought to be there with Rylie in times like this because they still needed the information about the Lobo form. But she couldn't bring herself to go to where her mate is.
She just couldn't believe that Rylie will not tell her things. They are supposed to be mates.
"Aly?"
Aly quickly stood up from her balcony and bended her head as a greeting when she saw Alpha Gab. It was rare for the Alpha to be out of her office and Aly almost wants to smack herself because the Alpha saw her idly looking out of her cabin.
She has nowhere to go even though she was the beta. They are allowed to have a day off from their duty and the other pack members were the ones patrolling the borders.
"Hello, Alpha Gab."
"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with Rylie?"
Aly bit her lip. Should she tell Alpha Gab what happened? The information is vital to the whole pack and there's no reason that she shouldn't tell the Alpha what happened.
"She doesn't trust me with the information about the Lobo form, Alpha Gab."
Alpha Gab had a contemplating look in her face. "We have to trust Rylie. I think there's a reason she doesn't want you to know of what she discovers but when its time. She'll tell us. I'm sure of it."
Aly suddenly felt small. Alpha Gab isn't Rylie's true mate but she handles it like a mature person does. Maybe she was wrong for pushing Rylie to tell her. It's best that she trusts her mate.
After all, the mood goddess fated them. But she's still having doubts about her being Rylie's mate because Alpha Gab can handle the rebellious brown eyed woman better than her.
"Thank you, Alpha Gab."
The Alpha smiled. "What for?"
"For telling me things that I should do." Aly jumped from her window and landed in front of Alpha Gab. "Thank you, Alpha."
Then Aly ran off towards the direction of Rylie's house.
