 Rylie's POV

Her mouth hung open. Alpha Hale looked at the woman, made long strides to go to her, and hugged her. Even the elders looked happy as they gazed at the witch.

"Lina!"

Alpha Hale laughed and lifted the witch. Lina tapped his arms, and Alpha Hale put her down, still smiling.

Rylie and Aly looked at each other. It seems that Aly doesn't know that the Raven Crest had a witch on their side.

She saw how Aly's eyebrow furrowed, and her jaw tightened.

Then her eyes traveled to Aly's hands when it closed on its own. She went to Aly's side and held Aly's closed fist in her hands.

"What the hell?!" Aly stepped forward and glared at Alpha Hale and the elders. "Why are you making a witch enter the Raven Crest ground? Are you sure she won't tell them our location?! This is a stupid idea!"

Elder Tristan calmly looked at Aly. "For five years, Lina had been on our side. She's loyal, and so is her coven. If it comes to you and Lina. We will choose Lina."

Rylie shook her head and held Aly's arms. The tension in the room became unbearable. Aly furrowed her eyebrows at her.

"Aly.... We need all the possible alliance we can get."

Aly must have realized what she said. She sighed and pressed her eyes when those sky blue opened. She turned towards the map and put a hand on it.

Rylie understands where Aly is coming from. For years, witches had killed werewolves and in turn, werewolves retaliated by prosecuting the witches in the Salem witch trial. The Light moon pack isn't particularly fond of the witches. She hadn't seen one witch inside the pack, just here in Raven Crest. She needs to put this in her research.

"Rylie has a point. Besides, Lina can prove herself once we get to the witches' lair." Elder Lola walked towards the map.

Lina walked towards them and put her hands out towards Aly. Aly looked at it and scoffed.

Rylie bit her lips. Lina was waiting for Aly to take her hand, but Aly didn't even bother to shake Lina's hands.

She took a step forward and shook Lina's hands. The olive-skinned woman smiled at her, and Rylie almost swooned. Those chocolate eyes looked at her, and Rylie felt like those eyes melted darkly.

"You have beautiful forest green eyes...."

Lina trailed off her voice, and Rylie realized Lina must have been waiting for her to say her name.

"Rylie Scott."

"That's a good name---"

"Can we please?" Aly interrupted them and grabbed her hands.

She and Lina were forced to let their hands go. Sh*t! What should she do? Did she do something wrong? Why is Aly glaring at her too?

Rylie made an awkward smile. Despite the tension she was feeling. The images from last night made their way to her head. Aly's hands are warm, and it made her remember what happened between them last night. She quickly looked away from Aly and shook her head.

Now is not the right time to think about those things!

It seemed that Aly must have realized something by reading her expression.

Aly quickly shifted her eyes towards Lina. Those blue eyes darkened, and Lina lazily met those eyes.

"Oh.... Is she marked?"

Marked? Rylie tilted her head to the side. Is that another term for being a mate?

Rylie looked back and forth between the two, but it seemed that they wouldn't budge looking at each other.
