Let's get into it.
First Person POV - Y/n
I expected the memory of what happened to be the worst thing but the meeting with the Diggorys that took place the following morning proved me wrong.
They did not blame us for what had happened, on the contrary, both thanked us for returning Cedric's body to them.
"He was happy then when he died?" asked Mrs. Diggory and I nodded, "Thank you."
When they got to their feet, she looked down at us and said, "You two look after yourself, now."
"The gold is yours," I said handing them the little pouch, "I know you're going to say no but your son deserved to win the tournament. He did."
They looked at me confused and I smiled.
"He got there first and I got there quite literally a second after," I continued smiling, "He said we should both take it and I tried to convince him not to but...your son is the Triwizard Champion."
I gave them the gold and they both thanked me again before they left. I grabbed the newspaper beside me that had a picture of all four of us champions on it.
"Guess I technically won then," I said quietly since I had managed to convince the world Cedric won.
I put the newspaper away once I felt tears brewing and took a deep breath. Term was over this week and Harry and I decided to head to the tower the following evening.
From what Hermione and Ron told us, Dumbledore had spoken to the school that morning at breakfast and just told everyone to leave us alone.
We never discussed what happened, except for once when Ron told us about a meeting Mrs. Weasley had with Dumbledore before going home.
"She went to ask him if you could both could come straight to us this summer," he said. "But he wants Harry to go back to the Dursleys, at least at first."
"Why?" said Harry.
"She said Dumbledore's got his reasons," said Ron, shaking his head. "I suppose we've got to trust him, haven't we?"
The only person apart from Harry, Ron and Hermione that I felt able to talk to was Hagrid. Since we had no DADA class, we went down to visit him instead.
"Who's that?" called Hagrid, after we knocked on the door. "Y/n! Harry!"
He pulled us into a hug and said, "Good ter see yeh. Good ter see yeh."
I saw two giant cups and saucers on the table when we entered Hagrid's cabin.
"Bin havin' a cuppa with Olympe," Hagrid said. "She's jus' left."
"You two made up, have you?" said Ron.
"Dunno what yeh're talkin' about," said Hagrid before turning towards Harry and me, "You all righ'?"
"Yeah," said Harry as I nodded.
"No, yeh're not," said Hagrid. "Course yeh're not. But yeh will be."
"Knew he was goin' ter come back," continued Hagrid, as we looked at him shocked, "What's comin' will come, an' we'll meet it when it does. Dumbledore told me wha' you both did, and I em proud of yeh."
"Thanks Hagrid," I said smiling.
"What's Dumbledore asked you to do, Hagrid?" Harry asked. "He sent Professor McGonagall to ask you and Madame Maxime to meet him, that night."
"Got a little job fer me over the summer," said Hagrid. "Secret, though. I'm not s'pposed ter talk abou' it, no, not even ter you lot. Olympe-Madame Maxime ter you-might be comin' with me. I think she will. Think I got her persuaded."
