I've heard a lot about this girl. I just hope that she is everything that they are saying she is.
I've been told that she beat building Jr's time on the first part of the assault course, but that's not hard. Unless you're an idiot.
Most of the campers are idiots. She's the first one to beat his time. Not as good as mint but good nevertheless.
I must say that I'm impressed. I've heard all good things about her mother Carly Kingsley. My mentor had the delight of meeting her. She's the one who owns this establishment and around twenty others around the UK. She's gone down in history as being the only one who got to the end of camp and fought for survival and won. She was the first and last to beat Sergeant Major Seth Hollingway at the time.
Her pictures and up in the helm of remembrance for the campers to relate to egg them in to do better to make it their goal to be the next camper who beat the Sergeant Major Drew Hollingway.
This was going to be fun, but that would only happen if she decided to return for the summer holidays.
We shall see. Not everyone wants to come back here. Some have been here since half term and will finish at the end of Easter. Some will come for a week at Whitson. But, there aren't many that do that. Let's see if she wants to be here once she finishes high school.
We have two weeks to turn her around. we hope we can. She has to return as she will be beginning her exams in May. Let's see what we can do with her in these four weeks, shall we?
Bulldog Jr and Kyler Hayes are approaching me. I look between them then I see her. My breath is caught in the back of my throat.
She's around five feet five, maybe six give and take a little. Her hair is dark, maybe black. She's sporting a black top and leggings with doc martens. With minimal makeup on, just black eyeliner, she's medium built, but damn the girl looks good. She looks a lot like her mother.
They are all laughing and joking, there is a lot of banter between them and those two dingbats are fawning over her. Anyone can see that they are fighting to get her attention but she's paying no attention to that whatsoever. I chuckle. I think I'm going to like this girl after all. I've never known any girl resist their charms, until her. I'm impressed.
They look at me and smirk. "Carly we'd like you to meet Curtis he took over from Kyler's father."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Carly. I've heard a lot about you." I said holding my hand out.
She smiled, placing her hand on mine. I close my hand around hers. "The pleasure is all mine. I hope it's not all bad, the talk I mean? My headmaster can exaggerate a lot." She smiles.
"Lieutenant Hayes was his mentor." Bulldog Jr, said grinning
"Shit I'm sorry. I didn't mean..I.. "
I chucked l. "It's fine Carly. I meant the talk that you are the first-ever camper to beat Bulldog Jr at what he does best. And I had no idea Lieutenant Hayes was your headmaster."
"Yesh. He's cool, I just had a little trouble with some guys at school and I got sent here. I was just defending myself."
I smiled. "We'll help, we will teach you how to relinquish your rage and channel your anger and only use self-defence when necessary."
She smiled nodding.
"So shall we get started?"
"Let's."
I smirked then looked at Bulldog Jr and Kyler. "You can leave her with me."
"Nah we'd rather stay. She's under our wing. We need to be where she is."
"I don't bite guys. Go."
"Not happening."
"Surely you guys are needed back at camp. I can take it from here."
"Nope."
"Go guys now! Carly needs to concentrate and with you guys hers she's got zero chance of that."
"Fine. We'll be back in an hour."
"Make it two."
They both scowled at me through sighed telling me and Carly they would be back in two hours.
They sulked away and we burst into laughter.
When it finally died down it was time to get with the program.
"Thanks for that. After yesterday I don't think I can handle them together again."
"I don't want to know."
I didn't. Those two together are a catastrophe waiting to happen. "Shall we begin?"
"Yes."
First, we're going to meditate to detox us and make us more relaxed then I'll show you what real self-defence is okay?"
"Okay."
I led her over to the mats and pulled her down. We sat on two mats then I let go of her hand. I showed her how to get in the right position to meditate then closed our eyes and sat in complete silence.
After we finished meditating we did a few basic stretches and I began to teach her the art of self-defence.
Carly was a fast learner and I hadn't realised we'd been here two hours until the whistling caught both our attention. "You finished Curtis, it's time for supper?"
Already?
"Sure. I'll pack up here and I'll go take a quick shower and join you guys."
"Do you need any help clearing up?" She asked.
God, she was polite and caring as well. I am still trying to imagine whoever bullied her and did what they did, she was an angel. "No, you're fine."
"Are you sure, I don't mind? Honestly. "
I smiled. "No, it's fine to go ahead."
She smiled sweetly. "Next time I won't take no for an answer."
"I'll hold you to it."
"You better." She smiled.
And damn those dimples.
"Let's go, Carl's before he changes his mind. He's good at that."
They all began to walk away. She turned and smiled. I returned her and she turned back sandwiched between the terrible two. I'm so fucked.
