Able

I couldn't believe who I was seeing, who was walking straight toward me. Were my eyes deceiving me? No, it couldn't be the last time I heard they were part of this camp, which was an anti-bullying camp that helps kids grow stronger and be a better person and stand up to their bullies. And it worked as I understood. I hadn't seen either Jonathan and Kyler in four years since I came to uni, and they decided that army life wasn't for them, and they would rather help combat bullying once and for all. Maybe that's why they were in uniform. It makes sense. Now they are here in front of me. And they knew Carly,

How did they know her?

"Able it's good to see you again."

"You too."

Carly, Jazz and Star stood their mouths agape.

"You... you know each other?"

They both grin. "We do. We went to the same high school."

"And we share the same blood."

"Ew gross." Star said, and almost gagged. I wanted to laugh

"Not physically, but yeah, we're related. Come on, we'll all grab a quick coffee and let you in on all the secrets of our family history."

Great, this is going to take hours. My mom and dad will be furious when I get home.

"Sure."

"Are you coming, Able?"

"I don't know mom and dad."

Jonathan blew me off. "They'll be fine. Just tell them you're with me. I'm sure they'll be cool."

I gave him a fake smile. Yeah, right, they might adore you Jonathan, but time, keeping is essential to them.

"Come on Able. I'll sweet talk them into letting you get home later than planned."

"You're not going to let up on this, are you?"

"Nope. Come on, we've got a lot of catching up to do.

I sighed and followed them.

The girls whispered. "I wonder how they know each other."

"Hard to believe I mean look at them, they're butch, and well, Able. Able is Able."

Thanks, love you too.

Leave him alone, guys, he's perfect as he is." Carly cut in, making me grin.

This is why I love this girl not romantically but platonically. We may be the same, but we're very different. She's more like a sister from another mother. We spend most of our free time together when she's not with Star or with Star and Jazz. Jazz has taken her under her wing since the fiasco at the party. She couldn't have a better friend.

Carly and I have grown close in the past three months. She's into a lot of stuff that I'm into, and we have the same interests, but that's as far as it goes. We kissed once. No one knew but us. We decided that one kiss was enough not to feel any attraction between us, and we didn't want to ruin our blooming friendship by getting into a relationship that wouldn't work, so we decided to stay friends.

We all strode across campus, everyone looking over at us and whispering. I knew who they were looking at. They always seemed to attract attention wherever they were. It was just the same at school. Not that I'm jealous or anything. They were always popular.

"Can't take you anywhere." I heard a mutter something I wanted to say, but Carly beat me to it.

"Jello Carly bear?" Jonathan said, grinning.
