Forgive me

I slowly came around my eyes pained and felt like a ton of bricks had pounded on my head and my ribs.  I tried to move but I had great difficulty doing so. When my eyes finally focused I became very alert and aware of my surroundings though it was not my room I knew the smell very well we were in the basement. If smelt manly sweat, body spray and aftershave. I felt sick. How much did I have to drink last night?"

"Too much." came a gruntal groan. A Husky but sexy voice I knew all too well.

Aiden.

What the hell was he doing in our basement that was usually used when Kaden had his friends over which wasn't very often. It was usually locked. How the hell had he got me in here?

"With great difficulty," he grumbled.

Damn had I said that out loud?

I placed my hand over my eyes like pins and my head was throbbing. "Why are you here Aiden?"

"I missed you too."

"Answer the question Aiden. I didn't see you at the party."

"I wasn't there until the fireworks went off."

Of course, you weren't. Sneaky as usual.

He continued. "I wanted to talk to you alone but it was so damn busy. I just got lucky when I saw you heading to the house."

"You... .you..you were the person in the dark who pulled me into it?"

He now peered over me smiling. It makes me feel nervous. He edged his hand forward, moving a stray piece of hair from my face. "I was. I thought it was the best opportunity I would get to see you alone and talk to you alone without Kaden hovering over you like an overprotective brother."

"He's just looking out for me."

"I know."

"So you kissed me and brought me down here, what were you hoping to achieve by your entrance, Aiden?"

"I just wanted to talk, Carly, you've been avoiding me."

"Ditto."

"I thought it was best that I calmed down before we talked again."

"And are you calm now?"

"I am. I'm so sorry Carly for everything I said that day I was out of order. I was a jealous asshole who thought my girl was cheating on me."

"Well, I wasn't and if you knew me as well as you say you do you would've known that."

"I know I'm sorry. I know sorry doesn't cut it, but I make it up to you I swear. I'll do everything in my power to make you believe that I love you and trust you. Please Carly forgive me."

"You'll have to do more than just show up unannounced and prove to me you won't think I'm cheating every time I'm with friends who happen to be male."

"I will. I promise."

His eyes sparkle in mine as if to say his promise is like liquid gold. There is a one-in-a-million chance of finding it and it being real, but when Aiden promises something he sticks by it and doesn't let anyone down if he can't stick to a promise he's made he wouldn't make it in the first place.

I finally remember where we are and panic."We didn't, did we?"

He shakes his head. "You were off your face, Carly, I would never do that to you. I couldn't  even talk to you 'cause you were babbling and none of it made sense."

I groaned.

"You're a babbling drunk and a funny one at that."

I shoved him. "Just you wait, until you get drunk. Karma is a bitch."
