DrakeI looked up. Oh, fuck I must be hallucinating, but the two sergeants that helped me at camp six maybe seven years ago were standing in front of me. Why were they here? "I am."
They both stare at me dumbfounded. "Drake Newton?"
I gulp. "Yes."
"Well, I must say it's a surprise to see you're in a frat, let alone harassing young girls."
"I'm not."
"Are you sure because that's exactly what I just heard?"
"Who from?"
"Answer my questions first, and I'll tell you."
"Fine whatever."
"Well, your attitude has certainly changed since camp."
"I grew up."
"I can see that. Unpleasantly too."
"Who are these guys, Drake? And what the hell are they talking about?"
"You must be Colt?"
"I am. Though I don't see what it has to do with either of you."
"Oh it has everything to do with us, sweet cheeks."
He made a disgusting face at them. Not surprisingly, he's a homophobe.
"I can't see why chicks fall over guys like that. Can you Ky?"
"Nope, not one bit. Especially when there are guys like us here."
Colt scoffed. "Who would want a pair of bent pricks like you?"
Oh oh.
Jonathan leaned over the table, his knuckles pushed onto it. "Now listen shit head. I'm not here to play games. I'm not bent and neither is my bro here, okay? I don't like homophobic pricks and I especially don't like pricks like you who prey on girls to get their kicks. I especially don't like the way you pricks thought it would be fuckin funny to video an innocent girl whose drink you spiked so one of you could fuck her and humiliate her. So listen to me and listen to me well, stay the fuck away from Carly, or it won't be just a friendly chat next time."
"Who the fuck is Carly?"
"Drake knows who exactly I'm talking about."
They all looked at me as if they were dumb enough to forget who she was. I certainly could not. They both stared at me. "AS FOR YOU WERE DISAPPOINTED IN YOU DRAKE. AFTER ALL YOU ACHIEVED AT CAMP YOU BLEW IT ON WANTING TO BE POPULAR."
He pulled off the table and looked at us all. "You've been warned." he looked at Kyler. "Come on let's go, we have to make sure Carly has her stuff for the journey home."
He nodded. Jonathan looked at me, shaking his head and cutting his eyes before walking away. Kyler looked through slit eyes. "I can't believe the bullied became the bully," he said, shaking his head. Strutting away.
"What was all that about Drake?"
"Nothing."
"Bullshit, how did those pricks even know you?"
"I said it's nothing. Please leave it at that." I snapped, Jonathan and Kyler weren't pricks, they were the best two guys you could ever wish to meet. I wonder how they even know Carly?
"Whatever they've gone now, and they won't bother us again."
"Are you sure? They know that Carly chick if we do or say anything to her, they'll be sure to find out."
"I'm not scared of those two. Besides, it looks like they're about to be deported, so we have nothing to worry about."
"I hope so."
"We don't, so stop threatening."
They didn't know Jonathan and Kyler like I did if they said something they meant it.
Carly
We all sat watching as Jonathan and Kyler walked confidently over to Drake and his friends. Drake looked up and looked shocked. We watched as they talked, Star and her sister watched in awe. I knew these guys, and they were the best friends I could've ever wished for. "Damn, they're good."
I nodded in agreement.
We watched as they played down the law and tried and strode back towards us with grins in their faces.
"Are we ready to go, Carls?"
"We are."
"What happened?"
"I told you it would be okay, we didn't get in any trouble. We just left them with a warning not to come near you and if they do they'll regret it."
I nodded, smiling.
"Let's go grab your stuff and head to yours. Abe we will call your mom on the way she loves us, so she won't say anything about you being late."
He nodded, not looking like he was too keen on the idea. Was his mom really that bad? We all got out of our seats and headed out of the café.
My eyes locked with Drake, who looked nervous.
I turned back, and we headed back to the door. Once we arrived at the dorms and got our suitcases, we headed out. "Shit, Dad is supposed to be picking me up."
"It's okay Carls, we called ahead to let him know we were picking you up as we wanted to surprise you."
"You did that alright."
They grinned wickedly. "We know, and we also know how much you hate surprises."
I smiled. I did, but that was a good surprise.
We all hugged and wished each other happy holidays.
"It was nice to meet the both of you."
"The pleasures are all ours, sparky. I hope we can all see each other soon and catch up."
"Sure that's great," she squeaked.
Jazz rolled her eyes. I just laughed.
"Let go, Carls. We've got a long day ahead of us."
I nodded and got into the car after giving Star and Jazz one last hug. Able gets in his car and closes the door. Jonathan and Kyler get in, slamming the doors. Kyler is typing on his mobile as Jonathan starts the car. "Your mom said it's okay to hang with us for a while. Stay behind us, so you can follow us to Carly's."
He nods.
Jonathan and Able beep their horns, and we all wave goodbye to Star and Jazz, who are getting in Jazz's car to head home for Christmas break.
