We heard a car pull up outside and a few moments later Carly entered our shared home closing the door behind her smiling. "Good news Carly Bear?"

"Damn sure it is."

"Care to share?"

"Is it here?"

"Here angel." He shouted out of the kitchen.

"Good, I've got some news to share with you both."

Good in that she no longer has to work for Ethan. Only one could hope or Ethan actually stuck to his word and got her onto the course she told us about. "Supper is ready, guys come to the table and we can discuss the good news."

We both headed into the kitchen/diner where Kyler had prepared a roast supper with all the trimming he never seizes to impress both Carly bear and I with his culinary skills. Especially Carly. I've seen first hand what he can do. He was a pro during our days and he had taken it up whilst we were on base.

We all sat down and started to eat. "So what's your big news angel?"

"Ethan managed to get me on to the course he told me about yesterday. It's a two year course depending on how quick you learn. The only downfall is that it starts in October."

We both looked at her.

"So, I'll be working with Ethan until I have to begin the course."

We both give a fake smile though we're not happy about her working alongside Ethan until then we will have no other choice. I place my hand over hers. "It's okay, Carly Bear, most courses don't start until late in the year."

Kyler reciprocates with her other hand. "Just be careful angel. We know Ethan better than any one he hasn't had it easy but you shouldn't feel sorry for him either after everything. This is an opportunity which could help you go further in your field of work. Maybe one day you won't have to work for Ethan and open your own place to help others in need."

She smiles brightly. "I would really like that."

We both smile, Carly bear is in the uo and uo and Ethan just doesn't realise that once our girl puts her mind to something she goes for it.

Once we finish eating and having our drinks I offer to wash up while Kyler and Carly go into the lounge her mobile rings as they head into the lounge. She excuses herself and heads outside Ky heads into the lounge whilst I wash up the dirty dishes , cutlery and glasses.

I dry my hands and head for the lounge and sit down. Carly joins us shortly and we both look at her. "That was the Dean of the program Ethan put me in for. He was just ringing to confirm my place in the program in October.

It will be four days on site full of lectures and presentations. I will have a three day weekend before returning to the program. Once they feel fit for us to show what we've learnt we are put with a counselee on a one to one basis with a counsellor watching to see how you do in the situation you're put in.

The second year will be five days and a two day weekend."

We smiled at her, shocked we knew it was going to be tough but this will build a better foundation for our relationship and we will be stronger than ever all we had to do was get rid of Ethan. Let's hope once she returns home she wants to work independently.

"Are you guys okay with this?" She asks, looking at us. "I mean if you're not I can say I'm not interested."

We take her hands and pull her into the middle of us. "We're both okay with this Carly bear. It will be a struggle at first, but we can promise you that we will make sure that we are here for you and make our relationship stronger than it was before."

She looks at Kyler for confirmation and he nods smiling.

She smiles widely. "Thank you , both of you for understanding that I need to do this."

"We love you Angel, we want to see you happy."

"Ditto. you deserve to be happy, Carly Bear. We both know you will be once you start this program to take you on a journey of bigger and brighter things. Better prospects."

"Promise you'll both be with me every step of the way."

"We promise Carly bear"

"We promise Angel."

Nce we had all headed off to bed after a long day I looked at Kyler. Talking quietly. "Once she's gone we go see Ethan and put a stop to whatever he's planning.

"Agreed."

Carly had begun her in-depth course that would last two years. She would be home for long weekends as the course lasted four days until next year when it would last five days and we would only get to see her every other weekend but we had to make it work. We would make it work after everything that Ethan had said when Ky and I had visited him and he all but said he would take our Calry Bear away from us, our angel no chance in hell would we let that happen. We would never let him take her away from us, ever. I can still remember that night so well. Kyler and I had met in front of the centre where Carly worked for Ethan. He hadn't done bad for himself after coming home, for good. It wouldn't last though we'd crush all of his dreams.

We waited for him to leave as the place was like fort knocks. As he approached his car we slid out of the jeep and headed over to him. He looked up at us, he looked at us curiously as if to ask why we were here when Carly clearly wasn't, but the look was gone as quick as it came now it was covered in darkness. "Jonathan, Kyler, what can I do for you?"

"Oh I think you already know."

"I don't. sorry. You've completely lost me."

"Stay away from Carly."

He grinned sadistically.

"And why the fuck should I do that?"

"She's ours."

He looked at us with utter disgust on his face. "For now."

"No forever. You stay the fuck away from her keep your grimy hands of here and your fuckin mind games away from her beautiful head."

His grin widened. "Oh I don't think so."

"Well we do."

"I'll never stay away from her, I'm going to make sure she wants me and not you."

I lunged forward grabbing his collar, almost choking the prick. Ky grabbed my arm tugging me back. "Don't J he's riling you up, he knows exactly what he's doing. If you hit him you're done for."

"I'd listen to your friend."

I let go of him slowly. "She's ours Hollingway you only want her cause we have her stay the fuck away."

"Like I said I have no intentions of staying away. She'll be mine and you'll be left with no one."

"You're a Narcissistic Tenacious bastard, you know that!"

He grinned millisiously.

"You pray on hurting others you're out for number fuckin one fuck anyone else who cares. You have no feelings especially if you plan on tearing us apart."

"Oh I plan on exactly that."

"You'll never have her, never!"

"Oh I will. And you won't stop me cause I know your secrets and if you try I'll tell Carly all of them."

He grinned sadistically.

"You bastard!" I shout and punch him in the face.

Kyler pulls me back looking at Ethan angrily. "You'll regret the day you ever laid your eyes on Carly."

"No you will. Now if you excuse me I have places to be." He says smuggly pressing a button on his fob before getting in the car and closing the door. "It was nice chatting to the both of you." He says as he reeves the engine. "Oh just to let you know once Carly returns you've lost her." He says speeding off leaving is for dust and angrier than we were before.

We can't let Carly know our secret; it will kill her and she'll have no trust in us. We have to fight for her no matter what Ethan is a manipulating, narcissistic psychopath.
