Ethan

The day is finally here when I get to see the girl who's had me in knots for a long time. She doesn't know it yet, but she will be mine. Today has been a long time coming and I have to stay strong and make sure she falls for me and falls out of life with them.

The door closes and I see her, my angel, my light in my dark world. She has no idea how I feel about her, not yet anyway. I'm trying to ease her into it if it takes months or years then so be it she needs someone who can take care of her with no other distractions. I look up and smile. "Carly."

"Ethan."

I strode over to her and hugged her. "I've missed you.

"I missed you too."

I grin like a Cheshire Cat and pull back my arms dropping from around her and creating distance.

"I've heard excellent things about your time in the programme. I'd like to hear about them."

"Actually I need to talk to you."

"Sure we're pretty hectic all day, but I'll pop by your office once the work day is over. How does that sound?"

"Good." She smiles. "It's good to be back."

"It's good to have you back Carly."

She smiles and I return her smile as she walks away. I wonder what she wants to talk to me about, I ponder. Well I guess I'll have to wait until the work day is over we're all on a tight schedule today and now that Carly has passed her course and once her exam results are in she'll be moved on to harder tasks and working with other people with much different problems than what's she's used to less see how she copes away from the campus.

I walk away and head to my office to get ready for the day. Carly has a light load today as she hasn't been here for a while and she has some old and new counselees to see now she's back where she belongs.

Carly

Ethan seemed happy to see me, a little too happy. I promised the guys I'd be on my guard around him. I'm not sure what happened when I was away but the guys are clinging on to me as if their lives depended on it. I'm sure all three of them have had a run in, but the guys are keeping silent so I have no doubt Ethan will be too.

I close the door to my office behind me and make my way over to my chair and pull it out. I hang my coat over the back, my bag dropping over it.

I sit down and grab the first file on my desk and see who I have got this morning. I know I've been away for two years but I hope to give these people a long lasting impression even if I will be leaving once I establish myself. I need to do this for myself. I need to be myself and not follow others and their plans. I'm grateful for Ethan letting me work here. I've learned a lot.

Work was over a lot quicker than expected. My day had gone exceptionally well. I had a few new councelles. But, I wasn't deter3d I knew sooner or later once my exa, results were through things were going to be a lot tougher around here and that would be the time to prove to myself that I can go it alone. Without any help from Ethan.

The knock at the door tore me out of my thoughts. "It's open."

The door creaked as it opened. Ethan strode in with a smile on his face no doubt would disappear as soon as I told him my plans for the fixture. The guys already knew it was the decent thing to do to tell him that I was leaving even if I wasn't sure when.

He closed the door behind him. "So are you going to tell me how the course went?"

"It went well. It was like being black at college with everyone watching your every move to see if you would screw up or not."
