"It's okay Star you have a few weeks before you have to decide you can always change your mind if it's not for you. I'm sure Uni would be okay with it if you decided to stay here.""Maybe."
"Does Carly know about your transfer?"
"She does, but I wanted to surprise her, now I'm not so sure."
"Are you going back tonight?"
"Yeah, but I don't think I'll be staying."
He smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. And squeezes. "You know you can talk to me any time. I'm here for you Star. We're friends no matter where you are, okay."
I smile faintly at him. "I know."
He takes his hand off my shoulder. "Come on let's go, we've got a busy day today."
I smiled and nod following him through the camp and headed onto the cafeteria for breakfast before I started the day's work and he wasn't wrong when he said we had got a busy day ahead of us. Even though I was worrying about Caspian and how he was coping I had no time to call Carly and speak to her to check on him even if I had had
I would've had twenty questions fired at me to why I was asking and knowing Cas he wouldn't want anyone to know what was going on between us.
I can't take this anymore. This shit is too much. I had finally decided that he was either going to tell everyone the truth about us or I was done and I wasn't going to be joining him or my best friend at camp next term and I would be staying put. See how he reacts to that if it's bad. I know he never really wanted us in the beginning and he was screwing around with me and screwing with my head, something I have no intention of another guy doing, especially him.
I head over to my car Conrad looks at me and smiles. "So are you heading over to see Cas?"
"Yeah then I'm heading back. I can't sleep there tonight I need time to myself to sort my head out."
He nods. "I'll see you when you get back."
"You will later Conrad."
"Later Star."
I get into my car and pull away heading to the other camp to see Cas and talk about where this relationship of ours is heading if it's heading anywhere at all. Whether or not he is willing to tell everyone about us or not. It's been months and he's still hiding our relationship. I can't do it anymore if I mean as much as he says I do to him, he would want to tell the whole fuckin world, not just our friends. But I guess I don't mean that much to him. My thoughts are running wild as I pull up not far from the camp, I have to do this. I need to do this. I need to know where I stand with him and if I mean enough to him for us to tell our friends. He means the world to me, but do I mean the same to him? I guess I'm about to find out. I slip in the camp from the back so no one knows I'm here. I can't let them know why I'm here until I speak to Cas first. If he will even talk to me about it, if he makes too many excuses I'm out of here and he'll never see me again.
I walk through the clearing onto the camp and see a bunch of people in front of his cabin shit they're going to ask questions to why I'm here an£ who I got in without the security seeing me fuck.
I have to see what's going on as I get closer I notice it's Jonathan, Kyler and Carly and a few of the staff. I guess whatever staff is left are watching the campers so they don't get scared of whatever shit is happening right now. I walk across the dirt path towards the cabin Carly is stressed out and Jonathan is banging in the door shouting for cas to open the door, when the hell did he get out of hospice?
"What's going on?" My mouth acts before my brain. They all turn around and lol at me stunned and surprised I'm here. "Where did you come from?"
"I'll explain later. Just tell me what's going on."
"We hadn't seen Cas all day. We assumed he was up to his eyeballs in proper work and calls for new camp interns. It's his usual jam when he's not out with the campers so we leave him to it."
Kyler explains.
"Jonathan got cleared at lunch time and wanted to see Cas to talk to him to let him know he was given the all clear to return to work so we both headed over to his office but got no answer which we found wired. Our mobiles don't work out here so we use walkie talkies he wasn't answering we've been out here since . Carly came over after she finished her shift and she tried to get an answer as well."
"I'm surprised you haven't tried going through the door."
"We did but there's something in the way. I don't know what's going on in there or what's going on in his head right now but we need to get in there."
I nod walking over to the door. "Watch and learn." I kneeled down, taking a clip out of my hair and bending it into shape before putting it into the keyhole and jiggling it until it clicked. I looked at them and smirked, "vola."
"I won't even ask where you learned that shit from."
I smirked. "Has anyone called for the cops or ambulance?"
"I have, they're on their way."
I nodded. "Can someone help me with this?"
"Sure."
Kyler and Jonathan stayed forward helping me push the door open. It was clear that it wasn't furniture that was in the way of the door but a body. Shit.
My pulse raced and I felt a buzzing in my ears. Sirens echoed and they got louder as they pulled up outside the cabin. Firemen, police and paramedics got out. "Would someone mind telling us exactly what happened?"
Kyler relayed the whole story from beginning to end the firemen stepped forward and took the door off the hinges and lay it down so that the paramedics could get to the unconscious body of Caspian what the hell had he done after I had left this morning he promised me he would be come and he lied.
The paramedics took his pulse stating it was weak and they needed to get him to hospital. They heaved Caspian into the gurney and strapped him on and pushed him into the ambulance. "Can I come?"
"Are you family?"
"Yes."
The paramedic nodded and I got in. I locked eyes with Carly. She had many questions swirling in her head as to why I had lied and what the hell was going on between me and Caspian, ones I wasn't prepared to answer just yet. All I knew was that it was my fault for leaving him.
The doors closed and the paramedics got into the ambulance one in the front and one in the back doing observations in Caspian asking me routine questions. As the sirens blared and the ambulance blared as we left the camp. I guess the firefighters would leave once they and the police have covered the scene.
The police would probably want to question the staff at the camp. So they would be there sometime. I couldn't help but feel partly responsible for this.
