KadenIt's too damn early. I drag myself up out of bed and head into the bathroom to do what needs to be done before I half dress and head to the showers to wake up.
Once I'm showered and dressed, ready for the no-holds bars fight between Christopher and me, head to the cafeteria. I know I can't eat much until after the fight, or I'll throw up everywhere. I learned my mistake once after the coach put me up against a teammate, and he landed a punch to my gut and I threw up all over him. That wasn't a pretty sight and it was dead embarrassing. Not today I thought it would be funny to see all my vomit on Christopher. It's not the best idea. I grab a protein bar and drink and make my way over to the usual table where my sister and her friends sit eating breakfast. I sit down and look at their breakfast with envy.
"Is that all you're eating?"
"It is."
"You should eat properly, Kaden, you're going up against another person in a no-holds-barred fight. You need to keep your strength up."
"These will do just fine, thank you. You really don't want to see me fighting once I've had a full breakfast."
"Why's that?"
I stare at them and shake my head, then tell them about the lurking incident that has them in stitches. "I guess you don't want that to happen again, but it would be pretty funny."
No it really wouldn't.
"Come on guys, leave Kaden alone. He has his routine, and you have yours, and I'm sure despite the kid being a jerk he doesn't want to vomit over him and that would be a win for him and not Kaden."
"Never thought of it like that."
"I have had, no matter how funny it may seem I'm not losing to that prick."
Once breakfast is done and the bell blurts out, alerting us that the final day of the games is about to begin. We all get up and throw away our rubbish and stack the trays up though I don't have one and head out to the lake where there's a big fucking ass ring in the center of the lake, they've got to be fucking kidding. No way is that fucking thing stable.
Kyler and Jonathan grin, smacking me on my back. "All the best buddy."
"Yeah you're going to need it."
"Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to fight on water?"
They both share a look and look over for the culprit. I thought as fucking much Caspian fucking Hollngway what an asshole. He looks over at me and smirks. I'm going to wipe that fuckin smirk off his goddamn face once I'm finished with the prick from Camp Hollngway.
"Good luck, Kaden." Carly says, hugging me.
"I'm going to need it, that asshole is going to regret that stupid ass ring in the water."
"He's an idiot, Kaden. We all know he's trying to rile you up; he thinks you aren't strong enough to fight with something that moves."
"Well, he's sadly mistaken because I won't be the one throwing up, and I definitely won't be losing today."
She smiles and lets go of me. "I'll be rooting for you."
"We all will."
I nodded. "Thanks guys."
They smile, and they know I'll beat Caspian's ass once I'm done with beating Christopher's ass. Because unlike him. I didn't eat breakfast, but only threw it back up. I'm moving my ass out of his way if he spews.
"Good morning campers and staff." Caspian's voice booms over the camp. He's like a fucking fog horn, but he won't be once I'm finished with his sorry ass. "I thought this year we would turn things around, usually have a no-holds bar fight, just a run through the woods, but I wanted to change it up this year by not only having a no holds bar fight but on water to let our final two competitors let loose in their testosterone and fight to earn the cup this year hopefully no one can cheat their way through this activity. First, I'd like you all to raise your hands to Kaden Kingsley who is the only one in our camp standing."
