After we get food, we part ways and I go over to Carly. She's alone for now, but, any moment guaranteed, Kyler and Jonathan will be joining her. She looks up and I smile. She returns my smile. I strode over, and I placed my tray down on the table before sitting next to her. "I see you've made a new friend."

I shrugged my shoulders. "I guess."

She nods yet doesn't speak. So I take the opportunity to be nosey cause no set is my middle name. "So who was the guy you were with today?"

"No one."

"He had to be someone sis you don't know that many guys and the ones you know I know, and I didn't know him."

"He's the Lieutenant from Camp Hollingway. He came over to introduce himself.

"I see. It looked like he knew you."

"He sort of does. We met last year. His name is Conrad. Alijah was sent to his camp."

I nodded. It was all beginning to make sense now. Mom and Dad had mentioned Carly had hit a guy named Alijah but hadn't said the why's and how's. "So he's the only original Amy dude here?"

"From last year, yeah."

"What about the sergeant and lieutenant?"

I watched her as she froze and gritted her teeth. They both went back to the Army."

I nodded. "So why's he here and not there?"

"He volunteered."

I see. There's something that's not adding up, and I will get to the bottom of it before I leave.

Two trays dropped on the table and, low and behold, the two guys that are my sister's shadows sat down beside us. "How are you enjoying the games so far, Kaden?"

"Good."

"I see you've met the completion?" they said, nodding over to the table where Christopher was sitting with his camp team.

I look over. "Yeah."

He takes that exact moment to look over and lock eyes with me. He grins and winks before turning back to the conversation at hand.

"What was that?"

"Fuck knows."

"Stay away from him, Kaden."

"Why?"

"Just stay away from him, Kaden, he's bad news."

"She's right Kaden, he's Damon Mcalaghan's younger brother."

"Who the hell is Damon Mcalaghan?"

"Bad news."

"Very bad news."

"Don't talk in riddles, guys, tell me why the hell he is."

"He was Ethan's number three, Conrad, his second. They're all bad news. He was the one who took it the hardest when they got sent back to the Army."

"Why?"

They looked at Carly. Her eyes looked scared and pissed at the same time, as if she wanted them to shut the fuck up.

"All we know is that the creator of the games found out that they were rigging the games and they weren't. Too pleased with it all."

"Is that why they changed the games this year?"

They both looked at me surprised. "It is." They stared at me for a moment. "Is that what Mcalaghan told you?"

"He kinda hinted at it, yeah."
