Caspian
I slowly come around and groan. My head feels like a bass drum. I have no clue what's going on all I l know is that my head is throbbing. The last thing I remember was retaking my med then...nothing.
I look around the room. It's all white and smells funny. I begin to panic.The monitor is buzzing and I'm in the middle of a panic attack.
The door flies open and nurses and a doctor charge in and try and stabilise me. When I realise I'm in hospital my vitals slow down until my heart and pulse finally go back to normal. "You had all of us worried for a moment there Sergeant Hollingway."
"What happened?"
"You were rushed in seven hours ago Sergeant Hollingway. You had passed out due to you overdosing on your medication. You scared a lot of people Sergeant Hollingway."
"Star is star here?"
He smiles. "Argh your fiancée, yes she's here with all your friends."
I looked at him puzzled. Have I missed something while I was out?
"Would you like to see her?"
"Yes please."
He smiles. "I'll call her in, she'll be glad to know you've pulled through."
I smiled as a thanks he walked out and I wonder what made Star say that she was my fiancée? We haven't even told our friends. I wanted to make sure she could cope with my outbursts before I told them. I wonder what she's told them?
I guess I'll find out soon
Star
The alarm went off and we all looked around as the nurses and doctor sped by. My head leaped into my throat hoping it wasn't Cas and hoping he was ok.
Around twenty minutes later the doctor came through the door and over to us. "Sergeant Hollingway is awake. He had a mild panic attack from waking up in a strange place which is normal after blacking out.
He's now stabilised and asking for you Star."
I looked at him confused wondering why he asked for me first and not his friends. Then I realised that I was his fiancée.
I nod and get up off the seat and follow the doctor to the room where Cas is.
He looks over and smiles at me.
Well, I'll leave you two alone."
"Thanks, doc."
"No problem."
He closes the door behind him as I walk over to Caspian. He is still smiling. He won't be soon. "What the hell Cas? What were you thinking? You told me you would be okay if I left for work and I find you blacked out in front of your fuckin door!"
"I'm sorry angel but I don't remember much after you left I thought. I would be okay."
"You thought wrong."
"I know and I'm sorry."
"I can't do this any more Cas it's too much."
His smile fades and he looks at me with worry written all over his face. "Can't do what Angel?"
"This.. I can't do this with you .I begged you to talk to your friends about this and you wouldn't. You need more help than I can give Cas."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I can't do this on my own Cas I've tried. I don't know where I stand with you!"
"I want you Star."
"Not enough."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm done, I've had enough, I can't do this.. Us, whatever it is anymore."
"Please don't say that Star you mean everything to me."
"Well I don't feel it. I'm sorry Cas our friends found out the hard way."
"Is this all about you telling them that you were my fiancée?"
"No, that was to get me to come here with you."
"So you don't want to marry me?"
"I won't marry a man that can't even tell his friends about us and has me sneaking around to spend time with him." I take a deep breath. "I wasn't going to bring it up but that's what I was going to talk to you about before you got brought in here for."
He takes my hand in his pacing our hands "I want you Star more than anything you're not my caretaker I want you for you. I don't give a shit if our friends found out I just wanted to make sure you wanted to be with me with all my problems."
"I want to be with you Cas. I was going to retract my decision about working at the same camp as you."
"Please don't. I want you there and I promise to talk to our friends. We can do it together and then we'll get married."
I laughed. "Don't joke."
"I'm not. I want you in my life Star and I want to Marry you."
"I.." was speechless.
"Don't say yes yet. I want to do this properly when I get out of here."
I just nod, I have no words.
He places his hand at the back of my head and pulls me closer kissing me passionately.
He moves away. "I love you Angel."
