The second day of the games went by like a breeze. I don't think the guys thought I had it in me. Little did they know I did this for fun. Carly knows why I'm going to college and I would run rings around these guys.
We had gone through all three assault courses throughout the day, and I was bushed. I couldn't help but think about the other night. What the hell was it all about? Was Christopher going to kiss me before the bell signaled the end of the day, and we were meant to be in our cabins sleeping instead of being out talking like any normal teenager?
I often know what to think, especially after the guys had warned me about him and who his brother was and not to go near him, but I still needed to prove myself not just to my sister, me but to him as well I needed to prove I was better than he was and to wipe that cocky arrogant smile off his face.
I'm not gay. I am straight. I know gay guys look at me like I'm the chocolate on their dessert being licked off and devoured. But they knew the score this dude, however didn't and if he tried it again he'd have a fist in his face. I was too shocked to think last night, but I'm prepared this time. I hope.
The night was coming to an end. The camp was dark, and the only light was the lanterns that lit the pathways through the camp to the cabins, showers and other facilities. Unless you were one of the lucky ones who took a shower in the cabin, which meant staff. Like Carly and the guys, so I usually snuck into their cabins when they weren't around, which was difficult but doable.
I hadn't seen Christopher all day and I, for one, was glad I didn't need the dude coming on to me again. I said goodbye to Carly and the guys and headed off to my cabin. I was bushed today, had taken it out of me, but I was just a few steps away from the end goal the winner of the game. Our team was among the three left. One included Christopher, the other was from our camp, so it looked like not being able to cheat had these guys baffled and unable to get what they wanted to come out on top.
Shame.
I closed the door behind me and stripped down and slid into bed. Closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep. Not waking until the alarm went off in the morning.
Christopher
I hadn't been able to get within two inches, let alone a foot of Kaden, today, with that prick keeping his eyes on me reminding me of why we were here and not to play our revenge because it would only get us thrown out of the camp and back to Camp Hollingway without second thought, and it would screw up any chances of the games ever happening ever again.
Like I gave a shit. I was zoning in on my target today to give him a chance to ponder the what-ifs. If I had managed to kiss him last night, he wasn't pulling away, so that was a good thing. But I needed to see my plans through and that would come tomorrow when we, ran through the woods and I took him the scenic route, so he knew exactly what had happened here last year and why the games and their rules had changed and not for the better, judging by how many of the camp had failed and now there were just three groups left two of which were here and one had Kaden in it. I was beginning to realize he wasn't just a pretty face like I had once thought. If that's the case, I show him just how good I really am and that he'll be the one left in the woods after I spill everything that happens to his sweet little innocent sister. I grin sadistically knowing that I have won the games before they even ended, and he'll be left stranded and disappointed in his sister.
Good, she deserves it. I'll be killing two birds with one stone.
I stride back to my cabin on top of the fucking world knowing what is going to happen tomorrow. I close the door of my cabin behind me and fall on the bed, not giving a fuck that I haven't changed, and close my eyes.

I woke up feeling more refreshed than I have in a long time. I head into the WC and do what I've got to do before dressing in my tee shirt, shorts and hiking come running trainers. I know what the terrain is like around here. That's why I am wearing waterproof trainers. They're heavy-duty, and I know they won't let me down.
I head out my cabin and closing the door, and met up with Carly and the guys in the cafeteria for brunch. "So how are you feeling today?"
"Pretty good."
"And what about Mcalaghan?"
"I haven't spoken to him since the first day of the games."
"You do know they've put you up against one another, so let's hope and pray your times are better than his to take you through to the next round."
"They will be."
"Don't get too cocky, Kaden cockiness is your failure, not your best friend."
"I know. I know what I'm doing."
The horn sounded.
"Well, it's time, Kaden buddy, good luck. We will be cheering you on."
"Thanks."
I'm sure that I don't need it, but I'm not going to say that I'm not a big-headed prick like Christopher Mcalaghan.
We all headed outside, and the guys slapped me on the back, wishing me luck again. Carly hugged me begging me to be careful. I told her I would. I knew that there was a hidden meaning to being careful of Christopher Mcalaghan, and I was going to be if what I've heard about Camp Hollingway and his brother, I needed to be ten steps ahead and keep my game face on because I wasn't going to lose to the jumping up little prick.
Caspian was standing in the same spot as the last two days of the games. "Welcome, everyone today will determine who's the best of the best. The two campers with the best times will go against each other. As you can see today, we have put you against each other to see who can make it through the woods without getting lost. We all know that you have been through these woods a million times before, but today the trail is different, so good luck everyone."
The horn blew for the groups to go. Christopher winked at me and I snarled at him before we set off. I wasn't going to let this price of shot distract me from my end goal.
