"Bon-chan can still be alive, you giant nose!" Luffy screamed at Buggy as he punched his nose. (Y/n) stopped for a moment to watch at the clown captain quickly recovered from Luffy's punch and got up to get into his face.

"Who are you calling giant nose?!"
"Red nose, round nose, idiot nose!! Yeah, that's what you are!" Luffy screamed back while some of the escapees tried to calm them down.
"Aren't you going to intervene? Straw Hat is your captain, after all." One of the men asked while looking over at (Y/n), who just shrugged and shook her head.

"The only thing I will do is teach Luffy better insults after all of this is done because these are atrocious." She simply said before walking up to where Jinbei and Crocodile were, ignoring the barrels Luffy and Buggy were throwing at each other.
"Do you find it strange that we get along with fish?" She heard Jinbei ask Crocodile, her interest perking up at their conversation.

"Well, it's certainly out of the ordinary. Guess that's one reason why your violent race is so secluded." The former Shichibukai answered Jinbei's question, not phasing the fishman much.
"I will take that as compliment."
"Jinbei-san, can I ask you something?" (Y/n) spoke up once she was at the fishman's side, earning a nod from him.

"Of course, (Y/n)-chan. What is it?"
"What's your reason to help us? I understand that you and Ace are friends, but I don't know of many Shichibukais who would risk this title for a friend." (Y/n) spoke to the man as he kept quiet for a moment before smiling down at her.
"Ace isn't just my friend, I view the whole Whitebeard crew like that. I especially respect old man Whitebeard because he used his emperor status to protect my island from humans."

"Ha? Whitebeard did?" (Y/n) asked in surprise, only having heard the scary things about the pirate captain. This was a surprising revelation.
"He did. You must know that there was a time when fishmen and mermaids were constantly getting kidnapped by human slave traders. When Whitebeard came along, he put the island under his protection. And when one of the Emperors declares a territory as his, pirates and Marines usually stay away from it."

Jinbei explained as (Y/n) nodded along, finding this information quite fascinating, and also making her understand now why Caimie was so much more sought after on Sabaody.
"I see. That's awfully nice of him. And what's your issue with Whitebeard?" (Y/n) asked while looking over at Crocodile as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Nothing you need to worry your head for, my dear-"
"Don't call me that!" (Y/n) shuddered, causing the man to smirk in amusement before she finished.
"And whatever it is, I don't care. Just don't be in our way."

Jinbei chuckled in amusement as both Crocodile and her had a staring contest, with the former Shichibukai not taking it as seriously, or at all for that matter.
"You seem to be attached to Ace as well, (Y/n)-chan."
The girl looked at Jinbei in surprise.
"What gave you that idea?"
"Well, not everyone would go to a hell on earth like Impel Down and Marineford for someone they don't care about." Jinbei explained as (Y/n) slowly nodded in understanding.

"While Ace is a nice guy, I barely know him. I am doing this more or less for Luffy. He is my friend and captain, so I am willing to risk it for him. There is really no greater goal behind it." (Y/n) simply explained, not really thinking of her actions as anything worth noting.
"That's your only reason? That's quite noble, I must say." The fishman spoke up finally.

"Not really. Anyone else in my place from the crew would have done the same thing."
Just as she had said that, Jinbei looked back at Luffy and Buggy as their screams grew louder.
"Can you two stop that?!"
(Y/n) laughed a little at the sight, only stopping when Crocodile put a hand on her head.
