"Are you tired yet?" Gloriosa taunted as both her and (Y/n) stood in Amazon Lily's arean, having a small match against each other. It was more for Gloriosa to see how far along (Y/n) was into her haki performance, but the woman also wanted to check in on her own skills since it had been quite a while from her last fight. And so far, she was having quite a lot of fun since the girl didn't manage to land the hits she had planned, and it was starting to frustrate her. Gloriosa could see that in both (Y/n)'s presence and with her now frustrated scowl that was all over her face.

"Not at all! But why won't you let me do any of my devil fruit powers!?" (Y/n) asked as she stood up from the ground while the woman quietly watched her for a moment.
"Because I want you to perfect your haki before you use your devil fruit! I told you once already, and I will tell you again, in order to use your devil fruit power to its maximum, you need to prepare your body for it." Gloriosa said in a flat voice, watching the girl with an unimpressed look as she ran up to her and leaped in her direction to kick the woman, but Gloriosa being as experienced as she was swiftly dodged the attack.

(Y/n) groaned as she ended up kicking the floor instead, leaving a huge crack on it. Gloriosa looked on in amusement at the damage (Y/n)'s armament haki caused unintentionally before glancing at her.
"I know that you said that... But it's getting boring without my poison." The girl said, jumping out of the way when she sensed Gloriosa's snake trying to attack her instead.
"You can't rely on just poison. Besides, isn't it a thrill to fight on your own without being dependent on your devil fruit?" Gloriosa asked in amusement while watching (Y/n) dust herself off across from her.

"Well, it is a little fun, I will admit." The girl said, dodging an attack that Gloriosa tried to land on her.
"Told you that it will be fun~" Gloriosa said, smiling at her victory of being right before clearing her throat.
'She is just mocking me right now!' (Y/n) pouted before looking at the older woman as she spoke up again.

"Besides, you learned a lot in hustle four months. Your armament haki is doing amazing so far, and so is the observation haki. My only complaint is that the haoushoku haki isn't in your full control yet. You can't train the other two while not focusing on controlling the third. When you leave this island one day, I want you to be able to do that and not cause people to faint at random like you did with Sweet pea and Ariadne earlier this week."

"I know! Trust me, I am trying to control it, but it's just really hard... I regret awakening it, to be honest." (Y/n) sighed and sat down on the as Gloriosa walked up to her.
"What's bothering you, child?"
"It's just... I really don't know how to explain it, but I am just anxious to lose someone close to me. I don't want to just stand to the side like I did with Ace... And I am scared that when we meet up again, my friends will be far stronger than I will be, and that they will just leave me behind. Nobody likes deadweight." (Y/n) said in a dejected tone as the woman sighed and smaked her on the head.
"Abuse!" She yelled as she rubbed the sore spot while Gloriosa rolled her eyes.

"Then don't wallow in self-pity if you don't want it to happen. I know what I will say now sounds harsh, but you need to let go of Ace's death. What happened happened. You can't change things for that unlucky man now, but you can change yourself. You need to let go and give your mind some clarity if you want to survive the New World. Luffy doesn't hold his death against you. He knows that none of that was your fault. Now, are you going to cry here or work?"
