As the four were trying to find a way out of Level 2, Hancock and the group of World Government workers were making their way to the level where Ace was held, trapped, and tortured along with another man. A Shichibukai who the Whitebeard pirate made friends with during his long and grueling stay in the world's worst prison.

Hancock herself didn't know what she would see, nor did she really want to imagine it. Not that she felt bad for the men on that level, but more because she wasn't all too fond of the idea of seeing all the blood and hearing the screams today. But Hancock bit her lip and told herself to endure it. After all, she did promise (Y/n) and her friend that she would talk to Ace. Something which was unfathomable to imagine the empress do, but the way (Y/n) spoke and looked at her made the woman weak to her knees, unable to deny her any wish.

"Damn it! These monsters just keep coming!" Buggy yelled as the four were running for their lives from the lion monsters that were guarding Level 2.

"These animals are so uncanny!" (Y/n) added in as she stared at the lions that had humanoid faces.
'They have to be some lab escapees!' She gulped and looked ahead again.
"Come think of it, I heard that the boss of the Level 2 beasts was some kind of lion monster! Is it one of those things?!" Buggy asked as Luffy and (Y/n) stared at him in disbelief.
"There is a monster stronger than that chicken thing?!"

"I am afraid that it's not with that group, Buggy! Those are the man-eating lions with human faces! Manticore! If they catch you, they will devour you! Bones and all!" Mr. 3 said as the lions let out odd sounds. (Y/n) looked back as they spoke to them in human like voices instead of growling like most animals did.

"Give us the keys!!"
"Did they just speak?!" (Y/n) asked while looking at Mr. 3, who shook her concerns off.

"Don't mind them! Their human parts just allow them to imitate human speech! They are just repeating what they heard the prisoners say! They don't know what any of it means!"
"What kind of creep show is this level even?!" (Y/n) yelled at the former Baroque member as they hurried in their steps.
"Fundoshi! Fundoshi!"
"This is kind of cool! You have to admit that!" Luffy laughed along, finding it amusing.

"Strawberry panties!"
"Where did they learn words like that?!" Buggy asked, looking back at the lions with a scandalized expression.
'Was Brook a prisoner here once?!' (Y/n) thought to herself, fighting the urge to facepalm the more she listened to them.

This yell did get Luffy's attention, and he looked at the lions curiously.

"Don't get distracted!!" Buggy yelled, hitting Luffy over the head.
