Two Weeks Later
In the Mentor's Quarters. Adam, Bree, Chase and McKayla are on a video call whit Leo.
"It's really weird not having you here, Leo. Everybody really misses you." Bree says "It's been two weeks. When are you coming back?" Chase asks "I'm sorry, guys. When I said I was done, I meant it. I've hung up my mission suit forever." Leo says.
"Then can I have it? I found a guy in Japan who's willing to pay top dollar." Adam says, McKayla hits him on the arm and shakes her head "Idiot" she thinks.
"I appreciate the call, but things are actually great back here. Uh, school is much better without Perry and I get to spend a ton of time with my mom." Leo says "Aw that's so sweet" McKayla says "It's every sixteen-year-old boy's dream." Bree says sarcastically.
"Are you sure we can't change your mind?" Chase asks "Sorry, guys. I'm staying here. I gotta go. Mom's hosting her book club tonight, and I'm in charge of dessert. Turns out, my laser sphere has caramelized the perfect crème brulée." Leo forces a smile.
Chase smiles gently at Leo, McKayla nods with an understanding smile "Ooh, that sounds good. Do I, uh, have to read a book to get in on that?" Adam asks, Leo frowns.
"Later, guys." Leo hangs up "I feel bad. We should've given him more credit." Bree says "It's true" McKayla thinks "I know. And he deserves to be up there with us at the award ceremony tomorrow." Chase says.
"Couldn't agree with you more. And that's why he's gonna be." Adam says "How?" McKayla asks "Say hello to the newest member of the bionic team." Adam pulls out a cardboard cutout of Leo "Cardboard Leo." Adam smiles.
McKayla frowns "What is that?" Chase ask "Uh, it's a life-size cardboard cutout of Leo, hence the name Cardboard Leo. Pay attention, Chase. This stuff isn't that hard." Adam says.
"Uh you were humiliated now" McKayla mocks Chase "I think what he means is, are you crazy?We can't bring that to the ceremony!" Bree says "It's just depressing," McKayla says.
"Of course we can, and it's not depressing cuz if things get boring, I'm gonna fold him into an airplane and fly him around." Adam makes flying noises "Whee!" Adam says.

In the common area.
Donald walks in with the bionic trio and the duo of cousins "So 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, we'll take the hydraloop to the mainland, and we will travel to the President's award ceremony in my self-driving limo." Donald says.
"I call shotgun!" Adam raises his hand "Adam, it's a limo. Everyone rides in the back." Chase says "You sit where you want. I will still be holding the shotgun." Adam says.
"McKayla, Luke, I reserved front row seats for you since apparently wherever we are you are" Donald says "Exactly that" McKayla smiles "I'm glad that's clear" Luke pats his back.
"Once the president is dazzled, I will undoubtedly be showered with a big, fat contract and piles of cash, which I just might share with you three." Donald says "Mm-hmm" McKayla says sarcastically "Really?" Bree asks "No." Donald laughs.
"Wait, wait, wait. So even though it's our award ceremony, now it's become all about you?" Chase says "You know, for the smartest man in the world, it really took you a long time to figure that out." Donald walks away.
"I knew from the start tho" Chase shrugs "We all knew Buddy" Luke says.
Douglas, Taylor, and Logan walk in.
"Taylor!" Bree says "Hey!" McKayla says "Taylor!" Chase, Taylor hugs them.
"I'm so glad you're okay" McKayla hugs Taylor tightly "Thanks to you, if you hadn't gotten me out of the way I would definitely lose my vision or worse. I don't even know how to thank you" Taylor smiles, McKayla hugs her friend again.
