New York isn't such a bad place to live, if you know what you're doing.
I moved there back in 2011, just in time to see that beginning of the construction on the new Stark Tower. I was super excited to see what it would bring!
Aliens from outer space was not on the shortlist. Not even close. And I worked in a giant office building, so not only did I have a pretty good seat to the whole battle, but I also got terrorized by some aliens who broke in.
Luckily they were taken care of by a raging Hulk who stormed through and basically hit them all with one punch each to take them out.
The cherry on top? My car was used as some sort of battering ram by the Hulk, so I was out a car and a job for a while.
Nothing could go back to normal after that. For starters, the Stark Tower became the Avengers Tower, and so there were superheroes in New York, living their lives and flying jets out of the tower.
Tourism also spike tenfold, and my commute to any place in the city needed at least and hour and a half buffer. Sometimes not even that was enough. There were just so many people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the heroes who saved their lives.
Which, you know, is fair.
I hoped that the alien invasion was the last of it. But it only drew out every other "special" bad guy there was. It wasn't always Avengers level conflict, but it was definitely enough to piss me off.
Wait. This isn't very convincing or helpful...
Luckily, insurance companies came along that specialized in 'bad guy' damage to property, which is helpful if you have a car. Which I do. Talk to any of those guys if you ever plan to move to the city. They're great. Expensive, but great because it will happen to you.
And honestly, a lot of those types of insurance companies popped up around the world when the Avengers decided to become an international thing. The news of Sokovia was really weird to process, so was DC and even-
Anyway! That has nothing to do with living in New York.
What does is celebrity sightings. Now, the Avengers know they're famous, so they won't be shocked to see you getting all excited to see them. However, they are still people who want to be able to grab a coffee without being asked for 500 photos.
So, just be nice! Maybe say a quick thank you and move on, I promise it'll be more impactful for them than a selfie.
You could even try for a job at a coffee place! Maybe see them pick up their lattes and write a little thank you on the cup. Again, way better than a selfie!
So really, the best advice is to be a good person, get really good (but very expensive) insurance, look out if you walk around the city- or even go around the city- because a bad guy could pop up out of nowhere, and pray another alien invasion doesn't happen!
Huh.
None of this sounds very helpful or convincing.
Well, you could always try and live in a suburb just outside of the city! There are plenty of nice neighborhoods, not a lot of action-
That's a lie, actually. My brother said Spider-Man came and recked one of his house parties by skimming across his pool and ruining stuff... so that's not helpful either.
There's also a decently good chance your neighbor turns out to be a not-so-nice-person. That happened to a couple friends of mine from school.
Hmm.
You know, maybe you'd just have better luck living an hour or more outside of the city, make weekend trips out of visiting, go on a ferry-
Nope, don't do that. I've heard too many bad stories about the ones in New York and elsewhere.
So maybe just don't come to the state of New York. And be careful if you visit, too, because you never know if a bad guy is gonna come out with a thirst for vengeance.
Maybe I need to move out of New York...

A/n: This one's short, but it was really fun to write! I decided to do a more first person perspective because I thought it would be more fun. Hope you guys liked it!
