103 || a win

The school year seemed to be flying by, lessons came and went, days were ended with sleep and Adelaide still had not talked to Harry, not since Katie Bell. And so came the first Quidditch match of the season, Slytherin vs Gryffindor.

Adelaide had been training her team hard, they were the best Slytherin had seen. It did feel weird not having her original teammates with her, but Adelaide knew that this team had the potential to win the cup.

The team met in the common room before breakfast, "Alright, eat breakfast and make sure it's packed, we don't know how long this game will go on for. Once you're done, make your way to the changing rooms and get ready."

Blaise wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "We're winning."

"I know," Adelaide stated, "If we don't, I'm seriously going to drown myself."

Blaise and Adelaide took their seats at the Slytherin table, seeing the other two houses donning red and a few wearing green in support, "Look at Ron, he seems like he's going to be sick."

"That would be helpful," Blaise said, "What? I'm not wishing his downfall."

"Would be helpful if Potter was sick," Adelaide said, "Lance can beat him though, I have every faith."

Astoria and Alex eventually arrived, wearing Green and holding a sign, "Going to beat those dreadful lions once and for all." Astoria grinned, "I actually need you to win though. Seamus bet on Gryffindor, so I bet on you."

"I'm glad you have the confidence," Blaise said nodding, "I'm done, you ready Ads?"

She stood up, "So ready."

Soon enough the entire team was in the changing rooms and Adelaide stood on the bench, broom in hand, "We've trained so hard, and I'm proud of all of you. So do me a favour, win this match. Zabinin, Wright, remember the plays, if we work as a team we'll get past them. Thomas, Howard, don't take after Crabbe and Goyle, hit the bludgers at the reds, not the greens. Bletchley, I know you're a good keeper, so be a damn good keeper. Lance, Potter is slippery, but you're small, agile and fast, the second you find that snitch, get it. This is the start of a history making year, so let's get out there and kick some lions arses."

"Snakes on three, one, two, three."

"Snakes!"

The seven stood by the exit waiting to be called out, Adelaide in front, jumping up and down, "Let's do this!"

"And here comes Slytherin!" A voice boomed, it was definitely strange not hearing Lee, "New Captain, Black, with chasers, Zabini and Wright. Beaters, Thomas and Howard, Keeper, Bletchely and Seeker, Lance. This is a new lineup, fresh faces, let's see how they stand against the reigning champions."

Gryffindor was already waiting, staring eagerly at the Slytherin team who smiled back, "Captains shake hands," Hooch said, Adelaide made eye contact with Harry who kept a straight face, she put her hand out, "Good luck out there, Potter, you're going to need it." She said, tightening her grip on his hand.

"I have luck on my side, Black," Harry replied, tightening his grip too, "Good luck, Adelaide."

"Mount your brooms. On the whistle... three, two... one."

Adelaide kicked off from the floor, snatching the Quaffle before Ginny could and shoving her out of the way, "It's Black with the Quaffle," Seamus Finnigan shouted, his accent made the commentating ten times better, "She takes off solo with Wright and Zabinin in front. Black makes the pass to Zabini, who feigns a catch and Wright is there to collect. We know all about Slytherin's new tactics from last year, time to see if these new chasers can team up as nicely."
