Chapter 9: The Lunch Shuffle

The bell rang, and english class on essay writing wrapped up quickly, as usual. ben nudged Sheng Wang with a playful grin.

"Hoy, Sheng, kung gutom ka na, tara na sa cafeteria. The freshmen are out in full force today! Ang haba pa naman ng pila doon ngayong oras."

Sheng Wang, still packing up his things, chuckled. "Is it really that crazy?"

The class burst into laughter, and ben , with a dramatic sigh, repeated his comment three times before the bell finally rang. The students hurried to the cafeteria, and Sheng Wang followed the crowd, hoping to get a decent meal.

When he arrived, the cafeteria was packed—students were everywhere, and the food lines were already forming long queues. Sheng Wang spotted Jiang Tian sitting calmly at a table, eating a sandwich with a relaxed smile.

"Not joining the chaos?" Sheng Wang asked, walking over.

Jiang Tian shook his head. "I figured I'd avoid the mess. I'm heading to 7eleven. the convenience store nearby. They've got pretty good snacks."

Curious, Sheng Wang decided to follow Jiang Tian. They arrived at "7eleven," and Boss Ryan, the owner. greeted them from behind the counter.

"Food at the cafeteria ran out, huh?" Boss ryan asked, glancing at Sheng Wang.

Boss Ryan shrugged. "Well, nasa itaas ang menu. Pumili ka nalang iho. It's not gourmet, but it'll do."

Sheng Wang selected a few snacks, but as he went to pay, he realized he'd forgotten his wallet.

"Uh-oh, I didn't bring any cash," he said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
