A Certain Someone: Chapter 43 - Bet

Si Sir Adrian, the teacher in charge, walked into the classroom only to find it completely empty. The students had already bolted to the playground, eager to enjoy their two days of freedom. She chuckled, shaking her head. "These little rascals."

On the playground, the energy was contagious. Banners were raised high, and the excitement was palpable. The students of Class A were especially fired up, led by Ben , who had even designed special team uniforms. The shirts were navy blue with a big "B" on the front and "Super A" on the back.

When He Jin saw the uniforms, she couldn't help but laugh. "Who came up with this?" she asked a student nearby.

"Si ben, of course," the student replied, pointing to the grinning boy handing out shirts.

As the students gathered for a group photo, adrian's fellow teacher, sarah, arrived fashionably late. Sarah was dressed in a sporty outfit that caught everyone off guard. The students stared in disbelief.

"Close your mouths before a fly gets in," mrs. sarah teased, her tone playful.

Class A's star athletes, Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian, stood by the sidelines, watching the chaos unfold. Sheng Wang couldn't help but notice Jiang Tian's unusually quiet demeanor.

"ang serious mo naman?" Sheng Wang nudged him.

Jiang Tian shrugged, putting on his earphones. "Just not a fan of these uniforms."

Sheng Wang smirked. "Come on, they're not that bad. Andami ngang girls na tumitingin sayo. How about we make a bet?"

Jiang Tian raised an eyebrow. "A bet?"

Sheng Wang nodded, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I bet you won't wear the uniform for the relay."

Jiang Tian hesitated, but Sheng Wang persisted. "Just for today. I promise it won't be that bad."

After a moment of silence, Jiang Tian sighed, pulling the uniform over his head. "You owe me for this."

Sheng Wang grinned. "Deal."

When the relay race started, ben took the first leg, sprinting ahead with all his might. The crowd cheered as he passed the baton to the next runner. Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian waited for their turns, the tension building.

As ben approached, Sheng Wang turned to Jiang Tian, a playful glint in his eyes. "How about another bet?"

Jiang Tian smirked. "What now?"

"If we win this relay, you have to call me ( kuya sheng ) 'brother' for a whole week," Sheng Wang challenged.

Jiang Tian scoffed, but there was a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You're on."

When it was finally Sheng Wang's turn, he took off like a rocket, leaving the competition in the dust. The crowd went wild as he handed the baton to Jiang Tian, who sprinted toward the finish line with unwavering determination.

Class A erupted in cheers as they crossed the finish line in first place. Sheng Wang, breathless but beaming, turned to Jiang Tian. "Looks like you'll be calling me 'brother' for a week."

Jiang Tian rolled his eyes, but there was a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Fine, but only because you cheated."

Sheng Wang chuckled, giving Jiang Tian a playful nudge. "Hey, a bet's a bet."

As the sun began to set, the two of them sat on the bleachers, watching the other events. Sheng Wang leaned closer, his voice soft. "You know, today wasn't so bad."

Jiang Tian glanced at him, their shoulders touching. "Yeah, nag enjoy ka naman..''

'' kuya sheng. ''

'' anung—''

'' the bet. ''

'' but I'm older than you..fine! ''

''say it.. ''

'' hindi ka ba makapaghintay?....kuya sheng? '' sheng wang laughed while clapping his hands. Napailing nalang si jiang tian sa step brother niya.

For a moment, everything else faded away—the noise, the crowd, the competition. It was just the two of them, sharing a quiet moment in the middle of the chaos. And in that moment, something unspoken passed between them—a connection that went beyond words.

The day ended with Class A celebrating their victory, but for Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian, it was more than just winning a race. It was the beginning of something new, something they were both curious to explore, one small step at a time.
