Chapter 91: Frost Arrow

The house felt like it was on the brink of bursting. Sheng Wang, sorting through his things, overheard Aunt Lea and Clark having a tense conversation. It wasn't really a conversation but more of Aunt Lea apologizing over and over, her nerves frayed. Clark, ever the calming presence, tried to reassure her.

"Okay lang 'yan, Lea. Mag focus ka lang sa pagpapagaling," sabi ni Clark habang lumalabas sa terasa para magyosi.

Sheng Wang, listening from a distance, found himself lost in thought. He'd always admired his father's patience but found himself feeling oddly indifferent about the whole situation. Standing beside Jiang Tian on the edge of a school building, Sheng Wang tried to focus on balancing his thoughts.

As the school's parent meeting approached, Sheng Wang received a notice from Sir Vince about discussing grades and future plans. He decided to attend alone to give Aunt Lea a break and maybe distract her from her worries.

Clark drove them to school, glancing back at Sheng Wang with a smile. "You seem pensive. Can't handle the excitement of the holiday?"

Sheng Wang's lips twitched in a half-smile. "Just a bit tired," he replied, leaning his head against the window.

Jiang Tian reached over and gently touched Sheng Wang's hand. The warmth of his touch provided some comfort amidst the stress.

As they arrived, the school was buzzing with parents and students. Clark proudly boasted, "Jiang Tian's done great this semester, despite a little mishap with the old gentleman. He's top of his class!"

Aunt Lea smiled, and the mood lightened. Sheng Wang felt a little out of place but was glad for the distraction. He was more focused on Jiang Tian's reassuring presence beside him.

After the meeting, Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian walked towards Mingdao Building. Sheng Wang joked, "So, second place isn't too bad, right?"

Jiang Tian laughed softly. "Not bad at all."

Before Sheng Wang could reply, Sir Vince hurried over. "You're late! We need to get to the auditorium. Student representatives have to speak."

"What's the rush?" Sheng Wang asked.

"They just need to say a few words. It's important," Sir Vince said, waving a stack of papers.

As Sheng Wang went upstairs, Sir Vince added, "By the way, you've been moved back to Class A. The monitor made space for you."

Sheng Wang's eyes widened. "Really? That's great news!"

Back in Class A, Liza and Ben greeted him with enthusiasm. Ben danced around excitedly. "You're back in Class A! And sitting right in front of Jiang Tian!"

Liza chimed in, "I rearranged the seats. It'll be fun having you back."

Sheng Wang felt a surge of excitement. The future looked promising, with the prospect of friendly competition and teamwork with Jiang Tian.

However, as they walked upstairs, Ben mentioned, "Jr's out of Class A now. He's been struggling."

Jr appeared, looking disheveled and upset. He bumped into Sheng Wang's shoulder, sneering, "Still feeling superior?"

Sheng Wang, confused, replied, "What's the issue?"

Jr's anger flared. "You think you're so much better? Always in the spotlight with Jiang Tian."

Ben tried to calm things down, but Jr's resentment grew. "You and Jiang Tian—"

Jr's words, "Two gays as treasures," cut through the air like a cold wind. The moment felt frozen in time.

Ben, shocked, reacted, "What did you just say?"

Jr, furious, retorted, "You think you're better than me? Always the center of attention!"

Sheng Wang's frustration bubbled up, and he punched Jr. Chaos erupted, drawing the attention of Sir Vince and Sheng Wang's father. The scene in the office was cold and tense compared to the warm, applauding crowd in the auditorium.

Clark remained calm, saying, "We'll review the surveillance to clear things up. But rumors can hurt people."

Sheng Wang, feeling the weight of the situation, finally spoke. "Don't check."
