Chapter 97: Old Love

Jiang Tian had enjoyed a few too many drinks that night. He sat with his colleague, who had a way of making every topic sound exciting, from lofty praises to humorous anecdotes. Jiang Tian, usually reserved, found himself swept up in the camaraderie, drinking more than he planned.

By the time he realized how much he'd had, he felt a bit tipsy and disoriented. His colleague, still chatting away, mentioned Sheng Wang casually. "You know, Sheng Wang and I used to be in the same college. He was always so dedicated, never took a break."

Jiang Tian's heart skipped a beat. He remembered the days when Sheng Wang was the energetic, charming student who had brightened his world. As his colleague continued talking, Jiang Tian's mind wandered back to those memories.

Later, when the party ended, Jiang Tian was driven home, but the cold wind through the car window brought clarity. "Stop the car," he told the driver abruptly.

"Feeling sick?" the driver asked, glancing at him in the rearview mirror.

"No," Jiang Tian replied, "I need to go back."

The next morning, Sheng Wang woke up with a hangover. Gu Hai, his colleague, noticed his condition and teased him. "Wow, you look like inlove. Namumula ka?"

Sheng Wang managed a tired smile. ". Hangover. You could say that."

Gu Hai leaned in with a grin. "Why don't you get in touch with your old flame? Sometimes old loves are worth revisiting."

Sheng Wang sighed. "I'd love to, but I don't even know where to start."

"Come on," Gu Hai said, nudging him. "You have Facebook, right? Just send him a message. Sometimes, opening up is the hardest part."

Sheng Wang hesitated but took out his phone. He saw the blank chat with Jiang Tian, the name that had always been special. He hesitated but finally sent a simple, heartfelt message: "Hey, it's been a while. I've been thinking about you."

As he put his phone down, he felt a mix of hope and nervousness.

Meanwhile, Jiang Tian was at home, feeling the absence of his cat and the emptiness in his heart. He decided to call Kyle, hoping for some distraction.

"Hey, Kyle, do you know if Sheng Wang's around?" Jiang Tian asked.

Kyle replied, "Actually, he's on a business trip in Cebu right now. But he's been thinking about you."

Jiang Tian's heart fluttered. "Really? I miss him. I want to find him."

"Why don't you go to cebu ?" Kyle suggested. "Sometimes taking a leap of faith is all you need."

As Jiang Tian hung up, he felt a renewed sense of determination. He decided to make the trip and see where it led him.

In Cebu, Sheng Wang was trying to focus on work but found himself constantly distracted. When he finally checked his phone, he saw Jiang Tian's message. His heart raced as he typed back, "I've missed you too. Can we meet?"

Jiang Tian arrived in Cebu with a mix of excitement and nerves. When they finally met at a cozy café, the sight of Sheng Wang brought a warm smile to his face.

Sheng Wang looked up and saw Jiang Tian standing there, looking just as he remembered. "You came all the way here?" Sheng Wang asked softly.

As the sun set, they walked hand in hand, feeling the warmth of each other's presence. It felt like a new beginning, with the promise of rekindling what they once had.

The chapter closed with both feeling a deep sense of connection and hope, knowing that despite the time apart, their bond was as strong as ever.
