Chapter 67: Saw

Mrs. Sarah showed Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian to their dorm room, marveling at the teacher's accommodations. The room was cozy, complete with a kitchenette and a charming balcony overlooking a sprawling autumn forest.

"It's quite sentimental," Mrs. Sarah mused, gazing out at the view.

Sheng Wang, unpacking his things, looked up and asked, "Is it better than our school teacher's apartment?"

As if on cue, a group of boys burst into the hallway, loudly discussing their excitement about the training camp. Mrs. Sarah and the boys followed the commotion outside.

The boys were animated, looking over their class schedules and joking about the upcoming sessions. Sheng Wang overheard their chatter and realized the boys were all from the same school, living on this floor, while the girls were one floor up.

"What's with all the noise?" Sheng Wang asked, amused.

Mrs. Sarah shrugged, "It's just the excitement. They'll settle down once classes start."

Sheng Wang noticed Jiang Tian's old classmates in the crowd, including a lively girl with a ponytail and a boy in a bright silver jacket. He sent Jiang Tian a Facebook message.

Sheng: One of your old classmates

Jiang Tian's reply was quick. Actor in the Forest [ Tian ]: Which?

Sheng Wang laughed at his own confusion. He typed back,

Sheng: don't know their names. Boy and girl, probably your junior high school friends.

As Jiang Tian entered the classroom, he was greeted by a chorus of excited voices. Blue, one of Jiang Tian's classmates, shouted, "Jiang Tian!"

Jiang Tian looked over and smiled, "You're here too?"

Blue grinned, "Got lucky with a spot. Paris is here too." He then turned to Sheng Wang, "Hey, I'm Blue. Sorry for the earlier chatter."

Sheng Wang laughed, "No worries. I'm Sheng Wang."

As they settled into their seats, Blue couldn't help but tease Jiang Tian, "How's the competition treating you?"

"Same old," Jiang Tian replied with a smile. "Just trying to keep up."

Later, as they returned to their dormitory, Sheng Wang noticed the girls downstairs peeking up at them. He chuckled, "Looks like you've scared off the entire floor."

Jiang Tian, drying his hair with a towel, shrugged. "It's not my fault if they can't handle the wind."

Sheng Wang's phone buzzed with a message from Clark about his upcoming birthday. He replied quickly, noting the restrictions of the training camp.

Jiang Tian looked up, "What did your father say?"

"Just asking about my birthday plans," Sheng Wang said, a playful glint in his eye. "He wanted to bring us a good meal."

Jiang Tian laughed, "Sounds like a great idea."

Sheng Wang teased, "You know, before the sports meet, someone asked Tangyi to send you a love letter."

Jiang Tian raised an eyebrow, "Really? And what did Tangyi say?"

"That you don't look like you're into anyone," Sheng Wang said, imitating Ben's tone. He laughed, "But honestly, it doesn't seem like you're interested in anyone."

Jiang Tian paused, looking thoughtful. "Not necessarily."

As they looked out at the starry autumn night, Sheng Wang leaned back and joked, "Maybe Tangyi was wrong. You never know."

Jiang Tian smiled softly, "Maybe I do."

Their laughter and easy conversation made the evening feel warm and bright, despite the cool autumn breeze.
