A Certain Someone: Chapter 20 - Review

The week was buzzing with exam jitters in Class A. After a wild couple of days filled with barbecue and beer, most students were more concerned about their next meal than their grades. But this wasn't any ordinary test week. The stakes were higher, and the new regulations had everyone on edge.

Head teacher announcement didn't help calm the nerves. ""Simula ngayong linggo, ire-rank namin ang mga silid-aralan batay sa mga grado ninyo. Ang Class A ay may 40 upuan, at kung hindi kayo mapasama sa top 40, ililipat kayo sa ibang klase. Ginagawa namin ito para seryosohin ninyo ang mga pagsusulit."

The room erupted into chaos. ben, always one to exaggerate, threw his hands up. "I'm done for! My score last week was a disaster!"

kyle, trying to lighten the mood, replied, "Come on, it might not be as bad as you think."

Ben groaned. "You don't get it. I could end up in Class B!"

Meanwhile, Sheng Wang sat back and observed with a hint of amusement. He knew he wasn't in the best shape either, having barely studied for the last test.

Jiang Tian walked in, holding a folded note. "Hey Sheng Wang, score sheet mo."

Curious eyes followed as Sheng Wang opened it. The note read: Class rank 1, grade rank 1, examination room seat number 1. Sheng Wang's expression was a mix of envy and nostalgia. "This looks just like my old score sheets," he said.

Jiang Tian chuckled. "If you want, I can just write your name on mine."

Jiang Tian grabbed a pen and scribbled "Sheng Wang" on the note, then handed it back with a grin. "Don't forget to throw out the trash after."

Ben , overhearing this, burst out laughing. Sheng Wang just shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips.

As days went by, Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian's interactions grew more relaxed. They shared quiet moments walking and sometimes had meals together, avoiding the cafeteria rush.

One night, as Sheng Wang struggled with a pile of wrong questions, he heard familiar shuffling next door. It seemed Jiang Tian was up late too.

Unable to resist his curiosity, Sheng Wang texted, "What's with the late-night shuffle?"

Jiang Tian's response was quick: " gising pa ako. ikaw?"

Sheng Wang hesitated, then replied, "Just working through some chemistry problems. You?"

Jiang Tian texted back, "Same here. Did you lock your door?"

Feeling a bit awkward, Sheng Wang typed, " oo, I did. Why?"

Jiang Tian's reply was casual but kind: "Just checking. If you need any help, let me know."

Feeling a bit relieved, Sheng Wang appreciated the gesture. "Thanks kaya ko na ito, I might just take you up on that." After that I received a text form him.

'' Goodnight.. '' he added emoji which made me smile. Siguro mali na nahusgahan ko siya na masungit at mayabang. My mistake.

In a deep night where a blanket of silence, Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian found a comforting routine. They weren't just classmates anymore; they were allies in the struggle against their endless study sessions.
