Chapter 93: Bitter Summer

It was a hectic noon when Jiang Tian found himself in a chaotic hospital. He had come to check on Aunt Lea, but the rumors swirling around had left him overwhelmed. As he sat on a bench, his tired eyes gazed at the floor, feeling the weight of the day's events.

"May inutusan akong mag-asikaso nun."

Tumingala si Jiang Tian, may bahagyang ginhawa sa kanyang mga mata. "Please, huwag mo siyang pagalitan," halos pakiusap niyang sabi.

Clark was taken aback. "When have you ever seen me scold him?" he asked, puzzled. His concern was clear, though his frustration was evident. He hurried inside to check on Aunt Lea, leaving Jiang Tian behind.

Inside the ward, the atmosphere was heavy with Aunt Lea's distress. Clark's own feelings were a mix of frustration and guilt. He knew that without Aunt Lea, Jiang Tian wouldn't be here, and he couldn't ignore the blame he felt. Meanwhile, Jiang Tian's mind was elsewhere, worried about Sheng Wang's reactions.

When Sheng Wang arrived at the hospital the next day, he was greeted with a mixture of tension and relief. He found himself standing outside Aunt Lea's room, feeling lost and uncertain. Jiang Tian saw him and approached quietly. "Sheng," he whispered, placing a comforting hand on Sheng Wang's shoulder.

Sheng Wang looked up, his eyes red. "I didn't know what to do," he confessed, his voice trembling.

"You're doing your best," Jiang Tian said softly, squeezing his shoulder. "That's all anyone can ask."

Clark, busy with hospital arrangements, glanced at Jiang Tian and said, "He's been transferred too many times. The exams are coming up. Don't move him again."

Jiang Tian nodded. "I'll stay here. It's important."

One day, as Sheng Wang walked by the honor wall, he paused, his gaze lingering on the photos. He missed Jiang Tian but was trying to stay strong.

'' he's handsome even in this poster. '' it was a candid photo of him smiling at the crowd.

In the summer, sheng's father mentioned that Jiang Tian had applied for schools abroad and arranged care for Aunt Lea and Old Man. Sheng Wang was touched by the effort and decided to help where he could.

As he stood in front of a convenience store, he received a message from Clark. It was bittersweet news. He remembered Jiang Tian's whispered promise and felt a pang in his chest. The cherries he bought tasted bitter, a reflection of the lingering sadness.

But as he walked away, he remembered Jiang Tian's words and found solace in the support of his friends. The cicadas were loud in the summer air, but Sheng Wang walked forward, carrying the warmth of shared memories and the hope of brighter days ahead.
