Sonic was stupid but he wasn't this stupid. Rouge came to his house and asked for a chaos emerald. Obviously Sonic isn't going to give her that with her history. Especially considering valuables and definitely especially Emeralds. So Sonic doesn't trust this proposal.
"So tell me again why I need to give you this emerald?" Sonic questions the bat. Who is unmoving on his front yard.
"I just need to use it for a bit." Rouge says with a calm neutral tone.
"For what?"
"Top secret."
"...Really?"
"Trust me blue."
"Funny enough, I don't!" Sonic jokes
"C'mon, trust me."
"Can you not? I'll ask Tails and she'll probably say no"
"Why ask that prissy girl? Just give it to me. I'll return it, promise."
"Yeah no."
"What if I give you a kiss?"
"...What"
"What if I give you a kiss?" Rouge says slower and taps her lips.
"Yeah I heard you, and the answer is still no."
"To kiss or to give me the emerald?"
"The emerald!"
"So you want a kiss?"
"No?"
"What? You don't want to get a kiss from me?" Rouge says seductively.
"...Rouge, the answer is no. No matter what you propose."
"So you still want a kiss?"
"I'm going back inside now" Sonic says deadpanned
"You still didn't answer my question." Rouge sing songs.
Sonic slams the door on her.
