Meanwhile Tae and Na-Rae finally escaping into the palace gardens, paused to catch their breath. They found a secluded spot and lay down on the cool grass, staring up at the starlit sky, letting the adrenaline of their escape settle.
Tae scooted closer, gently guiding Na-Rae's head to rest against his chest, pulling her in. She blushed, her heart racing, but couldn't help looking up at him. Noticing her shy glance, Tae chuckled softly and brushed a strand of hair from her face.
"Minion, I think tonight you've outshined every star up there," he whispered, grinning as he tapped her nose playfully.
Na-Rae rolled her eyes, though her smile betrayed her. "Do you ever stop flirting, Tae?"
"Only if you beg me," he teased, leaning down to kiss the tip of her nose. She giggled, nestling closer to him.
After a moment, Tae said, "I'm happy for Kookie, though-finally reuniting with his girlfriend."
"Me too," Na-Rae replied, smiling. "Mi-Rae looks a lot like me, doesn't she?"
Tae shook his head, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "Maybe, but you're one of a kind. Most beautiful in my eyes."
Na-Rae tried to hide her blush, nudging his shoulder with a playful scoff. "You're really laying it on thick."
"Just telling the truth," Tae murmured with a grin, brushing his thumb across her cheek. "Lucky me that I got the one who's right here."
Unable to resist any longer, Na-Rae leaned up, letting her lips graze his in the faintest of kisses, a silent answer to his sweet words. Tae pulled her closer, his hand cradling her face as he deepened the kiss, savoring the closeness, the warmth they shared.
For a moment, time slowed, and they forgot about everything but each other. When they finally pulled back, Tae kept his forehead pressed against hers, eyes still closed.
Na-Rae smiled, whispering, "We should probably get back to the palace now...right?"
"Mm-hmm," he murmured, though he showed no intention of moving. "But first...one more kiss, Minion."
With that, he leaned in started kissing her, and she let him kiss her again.
After a while, Tae took her hand in his, his thumb tracing slow circles over her skin. Na-Rae felt her heart steady under his touch, each gentle stroke calming her nerves.
"We still need to figure out the place marked on the hairpin," Tae said quietly, his voice thoughtful. "And how Mi-Rae's uncle has been teleporting."
Na-Rae's expression hardened with determination. "I'll talk to my appa tomorrow about directions."
Tae nodded, his eyes darkening slightly. "you need to be careful, minion. Now that we've taken Mi-Rae, they'll start searching for her. They might come after u too."
Na-Rae nodded, her gaze unwavering. Tae tightened his hold, leaning down to plant a soft kiss on her lips, catching her by surprise. Her cheeks flushed as she hid her face with her hands, but Tae gently pulled them away, meeting her eyes with a smile.
Tae stretched out with a happy sigh, his voice loud with excitement. "Finally, I've got my princess," he said, his joy unmistakable.
Na-Rae quickly covered his mouth, giggling. "Shh, don't make so much noise! We should really get back. Soojin might have come looking for me by now. She'll worry if I'm not there."
With a playful grin, Tae nodded, finally releasing her. They stood up together, hands still entwined, and made their way back toward the palace.
Meanwhile, at Jimin's house...
Mi-Rae looked at Jungkook, confusion clouding her eyes. "Kookie... why are we dressed like this? And why were Jimin and Yuna acting so strangely?"
Jungkook took a deep breath, his expression serious. "There's something you need to know, Mi-Rae. It's about your uncle... and the teleporting."
Mi-Rae's eyes widened as he continued, explaining everything-the teleportation, Na-Rae, Tae, and they all teleported on auction day.
"Your uncle has been teleporting, Mi-Rae. He's after something... something that involves you and Na-Rae," Jungkook said gently, watching her reaction.
Mi-Rae's face paled, struggling to process the revelation. "So, if he's after this stone, then... why did he bring me here?"
Jungkook gently took her hands, his gaze reassuring. "I don't know his full intentions yet, babe. But what I do know is that you're safe here with me. And I won't let anything happen to you."
