A/N - For @WhenBucky . Hope it's what you wanted! I tried to think of a lot of theories, so I hope it suits your fancy!

PS - This is kind of the perfect song for this one!

During the Great Depression, one of the only reliefs you had was your time with Bucky. He always made you happy and loved, even in the hardest times. Usually you two just met at each other's houses, but tonight, you decided to head up to the roof.

After laying out a few blankets, the two of you wrapped together and just stargazed for a while.

"Do you think there's a lot out there?" Bucky quietly asked, still staring at the sky.

"Yeah, I think so. I bet there's other life out there somewhere, there has to be,"

Bucky gave you a confused look.

"What?" You said as you turned to face him.

"I just never thought you'd believe that, you seem like the type that needs an answer,"

"Well, sometimes there has to be the unknown." You smirked with your answer.

"Well, I believe in multiple universes, like in books. I think there are parallel universes to this one, but our lives are different on each one."

"Huh, I'd never even thought about that." It was silent for a bit, thinking about the possibilities of multiples universes. "Would you ever go up there if it was possible?"

"I'm not sure, I feel like it depends," he said, thoughtfully.

"On what?"

"Well, how safe it was, what I would see, and what I could do up there, but I think that would be amazing," after a few seconds, "Would you?"

"I don't think so. Again, I kind of like the mystery of out there."

"I feel like I'm learning so much about you tonight," he said, smiling and squeezing you.

"How big do you think it is out there? Like, how small are we compared to it?" He asked you.

"I think there's definitely a lot out there. I think compared, were smaller than ants."

That thought made him kind of uncomfortable, knowing how insignificant you two were compared to the universe.

"Don't worry, Bucky, I'd love you if we were ants or if we were giants," you reassured, kissing his cheek.

"I like to think that our life exists in the mind of someone. Just think, we imagine a perfect world, and maybe there's another life form out there, picturing this world."

"Okay, Bucky, I think you're getting a little out there now,"

"No just think about it! Couldn't you see this all being in the mind of someone?"

"Like a god-like person?"

"Exactly! Maybe that's what religions are based off of,"

You decided to let him have this one, because of how enthusiastic he was about it. "You know what? I could see that,"

"Oh! You heard about the wormhole theory, right?" You asked.

He nodded in response.

"Well, what if we could get to one? Where would we end up? Would we end up in the same spot? Would we be in another universe? Another time period?" You had so many questions about this one.

"I think it would depend on which one. Maybe one would change the time, one the location, and so on." He theorized.

You nodded, figuring that was the best answer you would get.

"Okay," he said, shifting so he could use his hands. "Do you think each constellation is something? Like the hunter one," he pointed toward it, "do you think it's actually something? Not just stars, like, life?"

"And all the animals and other things? I could believe it, I just don't think they are what we think they are. Like, we might see a person but to itself, it might be called an orange." You smiled, proud of your terrible joke. Bucky laughed, having to sit up to be able to breathe.

"Oh, God."

"Hey, don't offend our maker, according to you. The person imagining us could kill us at anytime," you smirked to him, and he continued to laugh so much tears began to form as you kept making fun of some of his theories.

"The hunter could shoot an arrow anytime now,"

"Maybe you'll see more than you think up there, like maybe a giant floating brain of our creator or a lion made of stars floating through space,"

You stopped poking fun at him to allow his laughter to die down and for him to catch his breath.

"Your terrible jokes will be the death of me someday,"

"Not unless our creator," you motioned your hands upward, as in to praise this being, "decides to kill you first."

"Don't joke, you'd miss me if I died."

You smirked. "Yes I would James Buchanan Barnes. But as of right now, you're not going anywhere. Even if you were, I would have to come with you."

"And why would you have to come with?"

You leaned in to kiss him, and it slowly became more passionate.

After a few minutes, you two broke away from each other.

"Because we were just connected, and no one could break us." You said, smirking.

"Well," he said, squeezing you into him. "Even if some life form out there took one of us, we would find our way back to each other."

A/N - Sorry it's not the longest but I thought it was pretty cute! Hope you enjoyed!
