Chapter Thirty Seven: Zende

        I went into Forrester early the next day. It wasn't like I needed to be there but I wanted to. I needed to clear my head after everything that went on yesterday with Sasha, her dad and that strange hippie looking man. Who was he anyway? And why did he seem so familiar to Sasha and not to anyone else? Was he an ex? Or maybe-wait why am I thinking so much about Sasha? I shouldn't be. I mean don't get me wrong, I did feel bad that some jack ass robbed her and stole her purse as well as of the treatment that she got from her dad, but that was it. I knew that she still had feelings for me which I had to ignore because I kind of had feelings for her too. Nicole was my girlfriend though and I loved her all too much to loose her as I almost did when she had my uncle and Maya's baby. 

         I took a seat next to my camera and tried to keep my mind off of Sasha. I picked up my camera and began to skim through photo's of the models that the awful Yu Tsai took the other day. I wasn't checking the models out or anything like that, I just wanted to see how he took them compared to how I would have. To be honest I saw no difference. As I skimmed through the pictures it only made me remember how much I missed taking pictures of people instead of shoes. But I mean...things happen. Sasha is an attractive model who is extremely comfortable with her body which would turn me on quite often had I still been Forrester's photographer. Nicole doesn't want me involved with her and I understood that.

       I paused suddenly when I saw the pictures that I took of Sasha appear on the camera. Even when she was upset she still looked amazing. She-

       "Zende?" came a voice that I knew  well. I looked up from my camera and there stood Nicole looking back at me.

      "Yea hey," I replied not realizing how curt and short I sounded to my girlfriend.

       "Yea hey?" Nicole echoed. "Is that the greeting you give to the woman who was worried sick about you yesterday?" I blinked as though I didn't know what she was talking about. "I called you like nine times yesterday and maybe like three times today to know if you were okay. After you left so suddenly at my mom and dad's little get together without telling anyone I-"

     "I told Maya to tell you that I was at Forrester," I interrupted as I placed the camera down. I had to defend myself before Nicole went ballistic on me.

     "Told Maya that you were at Forrester?" Nicole asked shocked. Did Maya not give her the message? I nodded. "Zende you could have told me this yourself."

       "After you were having a good time with your dad, embarrassing Sasha, I should pretend like I didn't see any of it, right?" I said firmly.

     "Okay what does Sasha have to do with any of this?" Nicole asked as I looked at her solemnly. "I care about you Zende."

      "Well stop caring," I spat. "Care about your sister first before you care about me."

      Nicole raised an eyebrow. "Where is all this coming from?" she wondered. I didn't know where it was coming from myself. I turned away from Nicole and pretended as though I was organizing papers that layed sloppily on the desk. Nicole took me by the arm as if to stop me from doing something that I had no idea I was doing. "Talk to me Zende."

       I sighed as I put the papers down. I turned to Nicole and took her hands in mine.

     "You know I love you, right?" I said. Nicole nodded. "And you know I don't want to loose you again, right?" Nicole nodded again as I looked into her eyes. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me Nicole, always remember that." A small smile appeared on her face and God did she look so beautiful. "I know I betrayed your trust and went to Sasha once and I swear that it will never happen again. If you're still sore with her about that, know that it wasn't only her fault but mine too. You forgave me so why not forgive her?"
