"You can't just kiss me out of the blue Ridge," I said as Ridge and I stepped into the glass elevator of Spencer Publications, "especially when you're still married to Caroline."

"The walls have ears Logan," Ridge said curtly as he pressed the button to close the elevator, "watch what you say."

I took in a sigh because I knew that Ridge knew that I was right. He confused me most of the time but that didn't stop me for having a special place for him in my heart. I remained quiet as Ridge stood primly looking at the beautiful scenery of LA through the glass elevator in thought. From the corner of my eye, I caught him sneaking peaks at me and I wish he stop.

"You look very nice by the way," he commented. "Rather too nice."

"Bill works in a professional setting," I replied, "I had to dress the part." Ridge stared at me fondly and I had to try my best to ignore his stare. He had feelings for me and I didn't want to encourage anything. "By the way did you get my text?"

"Text?" Ridge echoed as he took out his phone from his suit jacket. I had texted him earlier asking him when was he going to divorce Caroline. Her birthday was coming soon and he seemed as though he was holding onto her when he shouldn't be. "I didn't receive anything from you this morning."

      "That's strange...maybe it didn't go through," I said.

"Quite possibly," Ridge replied as he glanced at me up and down. I didn't know why he was checking me out so frequently. It wasn't like I was wearing anything sexy and revealing. Just a simple sheer white blouse and a red pencil skirt.

The glass elevator doors opened as we reached the fourteenth floor where Bill's office was. A red velvet carpet greeted Ridge and I as I stepped out the elevator. Ridge followed after me as he examined the building. He was probably comparing it to Forrester's if I wasn't mistaken.

"Well aint Spencer the fancy one," Ridge grumbled but I ignored him.

I walked over to a black glossy door that led to Bill's office. I was ready to face Bill and was ready to listen to whatever it was he had to say. Ridge placed a hand on my shoulder and I turned to him.

"I'll be right here if you need me Logan."

I nodded because I knew I wouldn't need him. He let go of my shoulder as I took in a sigh and opened the door gently to Bill's office. I stepped into the office and closed the door behind me. The back of a silken black chair awaited me and I knew that Bill was in that seat. I hope he didn't hear Ridge's raspy voice from outside.

"You wanted to see me Bill," I said as I waited for him to reply.

"Figures you would be here." came a voice that definitely didn't belong to Bill. It was a females voice that I knew well. The chair spun around as there sat Katie looking at me evilly. Her eyes were red and puffy as though she had been crying. My heart began to pound madly because I was terrified to see her and I almost wished that Bill was in that seat instead. "You just can't keep away from Bill now can you?"

"It's not how it looks," I told her gently, "I just-"

"You just what?!" Katie spat. "Just  too happy that Bill and I are divorcing so you can have him all to your slutty self?"

"Katie please," I said trying to calm her down.

"No Brooke, you please," Katie cried as she jumped out of Bill's seat angrily. "You're the reason that I have no husband. You're the reason for my drinking habits. You're-"

"Listen to me Katie, I didn't mean to hurt you," I said softly as I went over to her, taking her hands in mine. Katie glared at me and something told me that I should go and get Ridge but I ignored that something. Katie snatched her hand away from me as I looked at her in shock.

"But I  mean to hurt you," she said giving me this crazed look. Katie instantly picked up the cord that was attached to Bill's phone and wrapped it around my neck. I dropped my clutch as she tightened the cord around my neck to the point that I could barely breathe. It all bought me back to the time when Stephanie tried to strangle me with a scarf many years ago. "Can't breath can you Brooke?" Katie jeered as she gave a cruel snicker. She leaned close to my ear and went on, "That's how I felt when I found out that you and Bill were sneaking around behind my back." My eyes bulged as I tried desperately to remove the cord from my neck, failing as Katie continued, "Doesn't feel too good now does it?"

I always hoped that I would die in my sleep of old age. Never by my younger sister. Never  by Katie.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER!" came Bill's voice.

"Look's like your knight in shinning armor has come to protect you," Katie sneered as she stared at me. I heard Katie suddenly scream as the telephone cord on my neck became loose. I fell to the floor, gasping for air. Bill was holding Katie back as she started kicking and screaming.

Bill's door flung open as Ridge stood dramatically in the door way.

"What's all the screaming about?" He demanded to know. He  turned and saw me on the floor holding my neck in fear. "Logan are you-"

"Make  yourself useful Forrester and get her out of my sight," Bill said irritably as he flung my sister into Ridge's chest.

"No!" Katie bawled as she pointed a finger at me. "She  deserves to die!"

"Alright Katie let's go," Ridge said. Although he was confused, he probably suspected that something nasty went on between me and her. Ridge opened the door as Katie held onto the door tightly.

"She must pay!" she cried, glaring at me.

"You're embarrassing yourself Katie," Ridge said, "let go of the door and let's go."

"Not until Brooke's dead!" Katie shouted and I swear that she was drunk. The sad thing about all this though was that she was completely sober. I smelled nothing toxic on her breath. It scared me to even think that my own sister was a danger to me.

Ridge pulled Katie by the waist as her fingernails scratched markings on Bill's door. I heard Katie screaming and cursing as Ridge took her away. Bill shut the door as Katie's screams were still heard very faintly. After having such a terrible incident with my sister,  I honestly don't think  that she was ever going to speak or trust me again and it stung. I was starting to think that whatever Rick and Maya said to her only made her hate me more.

"Brooke are you alright?" Bill asked with concern as he came over to me. He got on his knees and gently placed his strong hands on my shoulders. I looked up at him and I swore I was seeing ten faces of Bill looking back at me.

"Bill?" I asked weakly as I placed a hand on his cheek.

Bill held onto my hand that was on his cheek and nodded. "It's me Brooke." My hearing vanished suddenly as Bill continued to speak. My eyes rolled back and the last thing that I remember seeing was Bill and nothing but him.
