Chapter Eight: Sasha

         When Nick told me that she had something to tell me about Inari it made me curious. What did she have to tell me about him? Even though I was running late for my date with him, I listened to what ever it was that she had to say.

        "Look Sasha, I get that you like Inari a lot," Nick began.

       "Even though you two just met a few days ago," Rick coughed. I let that slide because I knew what a real ass Rick could be.

        "I know that he saved your life and that you two click perfectly," Nick continued and I wondered where she was going with this, "but I have to say, as bitchy as this may sound, I don't want you seeing him."

          "What?" I asked as I searched Nick's eyes to see if she was joking. She was serious. "You don't want me to continue to see Inari?"

        "Neither do I," Maya added.

         "And why exactly?" I asked.

        "He's not for you," Nick answered simply.

       "He's not for me?" I echoed as Nick nodded. "Do you not hear how you sound right now Nick? You sound exactly  like Dad."

         "Sasha listen-"

         "You don't understand how happy I feel when I'm with Inari," I explained. "I feel so safe and so loved when were together."

        "Mind you it's only been a few days," Rick reminded and Maya laughed. How could they be so cruel. Nick sighed.

      "I could imagine how he makes you feel Sasha but-"

      "But what Nick? You don't want me to be happy is that it?" I wanted to know. "Still sore with me about faking my pregnancy with Zende, aren't you?"

       "I want you to be happy Sasha just not with Inari," Nick replied. "He's only going to hurt you!"

      "He wouldn't. You don't even know him."

      "And neither do you," Nicole said irritably. "Zende and I saw him kissing some other woman a few minutes after you left to change your outfit and-"

        "Really?" I asked. "You expect me to believe that?"

        "You should," Maya added.

      "Well I won't. I mean seeing as whose mouth its coming from I should trust her, right?" I said in a sarcastic tone. Nicole probably was just making up lies to ruin me and Inari's relationship. It wasn't going to work though. I knew better.

       "Nicole isn't  trying to hurt you Sasha," Rick told me, "she's trying to save you from getting hurt."

        "Like she cares," I spat. "Like any of you care."

       "Believe it or not Sasha we do care about you," Maya replied. " If we didn't we wouldn't be having this conversation with you and-"

       "Oh shut up Maya!" I yelled. "Shut up!"

       "Watch it Sasha," Rick warned. "Don't talk to my wife like that."

        "And why shouldn't I, Rick? I know Maya and I know her well. She feels like she could talk to me how she wants so why not return the favor," I said irritably. Rick glared at me and he could continue to glare "To tell you the truth I don't even know why I'm even wasting my breath talking and listening to you three." I headed towards the door and made my exit. Nick was a hater as was Maya and her shrimpy legged husband. They didn't like me and I didn't like them. There was no need to lie about Inari to my face when none of them knew him the way  I did.
