I was extremely  elated to see Caroline's eyes gleam with delight as she saw my second and final gift to her. Not only was her reaction cute but it also showed that she liked what she was seeing. Standing in front of us was a dinner table set for two. A yellow fluffy Ice rose in a white crystal vase, that I stole from Steffy, stood tall in the middle of the table. Seasoned flounder and french fries sat on one side of the table for Caroline while a plate of bow tie shaped noodles with tuna and diced cauliflower sat on the other side. Had I not been allergic to sea food, excluding tuna, I would definitely had been partaking in the same meal as Caroline.

"Oh my God Thomas," Caroline said as she covered her mouth in surprise, "I-I-I honestly don't know what to say."

"Don't say anything," I replied with a smile, "your face says it all."

I gestured for Caroline to sit and she did, still in total shock. I sat down right in front of her feeling overly excited that I can finally spend some time with the woman of my child and my dreams.

"Did you cook this?" Caroline asked as she delicately cut the white seasoned flounder.

"Yes," I replied proudly as Caroline's eyes bulged wide. Guess she was shocked that the rich son of Ridge Forrester actually  cooked. All my life I didn't need or bothered to learn how to cook since we had servants to do all that for us. Now that Dad banned me from the mansion, I had no choice but to start learning. I got the recipe of the seasoned flounder from one of our late servants, Maria, cook book. Maria had been around during Grand-dad and Grandma's era and passed away when I was a teenager. Her food was remarkable so I assumed that the cook book that she used was as equally as remarkable. Unfortunately, Maria was a professional and I wasn't. Still, I hoped the flounder was edible for Caroline's sake. "If the flounder is a bit too salty, know that I was a bit heavy handed with the salt."

Caroline took a dainty bite of the flounder as I looked nervously at what she thought of it. If she hated it then I was screwed. If she liked it then I'd be satisfied.

"Well?" I asked as I awaited her critique about the food. Caroline swallowed the flounder and then gave me a neutral look.

"You should stick to designing," She responded as she put down her knife and fork. She didn't like it and I should've known. I don't know why I bothered to even take on a task that I had no skill in. Ugh! You're so stupid Thomas. So stupid to the point that you want to impress the one you love and end up making a complete idiot out of yourself. "You should stick to designing only because if you did decide to become a chef or anything, you'd put half of the chef's to shame." My eyes lit up when Caroline said that. Did that mean she liked the food? Was she complimenting me? "I mean not Chef Ramsey or Mario Batali but other unknown amateur chefs and-" I could kiss her right now. I know that I'll never be as good as those chef's but to see that she was impressed only made me happy that I completed my job.

"Eat your food and flatter me later," I joked as Caroline laughed. She took another bite of the flounder as I ate my pauper like meal. Didn't matter if my meal was pauper like though, all that mattered was that Caroline was happy with her birthday dinner, compliments to me.

As Caroline ate more and more of her meal she became more talkative. More talkative to the point that the drama between Dad, her and I never existed. I wasn't complaining or anything because I lived to see this beautiful woman loquacious. Although some men find talkative woman to be a turn off I thought it type sexy. I honestly didn't know what urged her to become so suddenly communicative- maybe the seasoned salt had a hidden spell mixed in it- but I liked it. I took a spoonful of my tuna mush and chewed it as I listened to what Caroline was saying.
