"Pick up, pick up, pick up."

Luke only had two dollars left and the whiskey was three.

He decided on calling Calum to come and get drunk with him but his best friend wasn't answering.

"Fuck you, Hood," Luke said to the voicemail.

"Since when does Luke Hemmings swear?"

Luke turned his head and instantly recognized the mop of red hair.

"Since when does Michael Clifford talk to Luke Hemmings?"

Michael and Luke's boyfriend were sworn enemies. Ex-best friends.

Michael laughed and sat down in the seat in front of Luke. He had a big pine of beer in his hand and Luke really wished he had one as well. Or alcohol in every form for that matter.

"Because whenever I do I get ten basketball players threatening to chop my balls off."

Luke rolled his eyes. Philip and his friends were something else.

"Where is the loved boy anyway?"

"Boning some cheerleader probably." Luke took Michael's beer out of his hands and chugged it down in one go.

"Someone's thirsty." Michael frowned and Luke felt judged.

"Yeah, sorry. I'll pay you back. If I'll remember to."

"Is everything alright?" The older boy sounded worried.

Luke glared at Michael. "Yes, perfect. Everyone at school knew my boyfriend was cheating on me but no one cared enough to tell me. Not either my best friend or you for that matter."

Michael offered Luke a weak smile. "I told you the day you accepted to go on a date with him that he was trouble."

"Yeah what was up with that anyway?"

Philip and Michael were best friends before he started dating Luke. Luke presumed Michael hated him for stealing his best friend so he just hated him back.

Just a bit though. He wasn't able of hating people.

"Story for another day. Why aren't you drinking anything?"

"Out of money," Luke explained and pushed a bunch of peanuts in his mouth. "Calum is being a traitor and is not answering his phone."

"What's your poison?"

"Trying to get me drunk Clifford?"

Michael only grinned before he waved to the waitress.

If Luke was drunk before he was even drunker now.

It turned out Michael's parents owned the bar Luke decided to drink his feelings away.
