There was something weird about sitting next to Luke on a couch in his house while his family was out of town. Weird because Michael and Luke have been on many dates, even went to a party together but never were they ever alone in a private place.

For a second, Michael thought that it was because they were sitting so close but they sat closer before in the car when they were sitting in the back.

Then maybe it was the fact that he had a hand over Luke's dramatically wide shoulders but that wasn't it either. Luke fell asleep on Michael's shoulder at the movies before when they were in a similar position.

So that had to be it.

It was weird because they were alone.

And quiet.

Usually, they'd talk. Even when watching the movies in the cinema somebody would say something.

Now, Luke was so focused on the screen and every now and then when something excited seemed to happen he squeezed Michael's hand.

Michael wasn't looking at the screen but he was looking at Luke.

He looked beautiful. He'll forever be grateful to Calum's sister who gave Luke his number because the past few months with Luke were amazing to Michael.

They weren't even dating yet or better said. No one asked no one the question to make it official.

Suddenly, Michael realized he's been caught. He could see Luke's eye twitch even before he reached for the remote control and paused the movie.

When Luke turned to him Michael made sure to give him his best smile.

"Michael..." Luke said and he looked disappointed because he was looking at him. "Did you lie to me that you like Harry Potter just so we'd have something in common?"

Michael frowned. "Why would I do that?"

"Well," Luke raised his hands. "You told me you love Harry Potter and then that you haven't watched the films. I could also see you weren't happy when I mentioned having a Harry Potter marathon today but not that I finally convinced you, you're not even watching."

Michael smiled widely and shook his head, he fixed one of Luke's curls before running his knuckles slowly over Luke's soft cheek.

"You're amazing, you know that?"

Luke blushed but pushed Michael's hand away and still had a pout on his face.

"Luke." Michael chuckled. "I love Harry Potter if you forgot I beat you at the trivia game we played."

"You could have cheated."

"But I didn't. I've read all the books at least three times."

Luke's frown quickly disappeared.

"I just never watched the films. Maybe I waited for a perfect boy to come along to watch them with me." He tried to make Luke's smile or at least look at him.

"You're not even watching."

"Because." Michael laughed. "Your TV is kind of small and I can't see much without my glasses."

Luke turned to him. "You wear glasses?"

"Yeah, but I look stupid with them so of course, I won't bring them to dates."

"No but." Now Luke looked happy. "The first picture Mali showed me of you, you had clear glasses on and you looked adorable. That's why I texted you because you looked geeky and nice."

Michael dramatically gasped. "Not because you find me breathtakingly attractive?"

That made Luke laugh hard.

When he calmed down, he scooted closer to Michael, who didn't seem to mind. He even pulled the younger man so they were now only centimeters apart.

"We should go and see the first part of Harry Potter next week when they're playing it with live music and orchestra."

Luke was already nodded before he realized something. "It's Valentine's day next week."

"So?" Michael asked.

"Nothing."

"Luke..." Michael came really close to him, so their lips were almost touching because he knew it was Luke's weak spot.

"I thought." He whispered, not taking his eyes away from Michael's lips. "We'd be together by Valentine's day."

"Are we apart?" Michael teased.

Luke shook his head. "But can we officially not be apart?"

The older man laughed and pressed their lips together, hoping Luke would understand what his answer was.
