"Stop laughing at me."

Michael really tried to but couldn't. Only when he looked at his date, he saw Luke was looking offended.

"Luke, I'm not laughing at you. I'd never." He said and started giggling again. "I just seriously can't believe that someone like you never had a boyfriend."

"It's not that I couldn't get one, you know?" Luke wasn't uncomfortable. It was hard being uncomfortable around Michael because he was so easy going.

"That's what I'm laughing about. That nobody snatched you for themselves." Michael started counting. "You're good-looking. Funny. Well educated and you love animals."

Michael was half-joking because he was trying to make Luke laugh but also very serious. The man was ten out of ten when they talked on Tinder but a hundred out of ten in person.

"You're being too nice." Luke bit his lip and stirred his cup of tea. "There just never were many people I was interested in. I never wanted to date, anyone, I knew. Not that the list of gay people I know is long. I only downloaded Tinder a few months ago and the two dates I went on were horrible."

"You know what they say... Third time's a charm."

That did make Luke laugh.

"What about gay bars? Not all of them are that bad."

The blue-eyed man shrugged his shoulders. "I have never been to one."

Michael stopped talking.

"What?" Luke blushed.

"I'm thorn between dragging you to all the gay bars and locking you away from the world so I can have you for myself." Luke cracked a smile but Michael was half-serious.

"I never had anyone who'd go with me and as you may notice I'm not really the type to go by myself."

"Do you have any plans?"

"Right now?" Luke asked. They went to the movies and now a drink. But Luke really liked Michael so he kept his schedule empty just in case.

The possibilities varied from going to sleep early after a bad date, an extra-long date because the chemistry would be good, and a sleepover. The naked kind.

He shook his head. "No. But I don't think I'm dressed properly."

"No, no, no. The less put together you look; less people will hit on you and I can only protect you from three people at the time."

Once again Luke thought he was joking when Michael wasn't.

It was Friday evening so the bars were full. Michael chose the one where his friends most likely were and he knew at least they wouldn't hit on the beautiful man he brought with him.

They did decide on opening Luke's shirt for two more buttons.

"Don't leave me, please," Luke whispered as they entered the crowded bar.
