Luke's eyes were tearing up while looking at the sea of rainbow flags on the TV screen.

He heard someone, probably Michael, unlocking the front door to his apartment.

"Babe!" Michael shouted and Luke could hear him rushing as he tripped the coat rack and kicked his shoes off.

Luke looked at him as he ran into their living room.

"Am I late?" His breathing was loud and quick as he looked desperately at his boyfriend.

Luke tried to smile but was completely too emotional so he just started crying from happiness.

"We voted yes."

Michael grinned so widely and fell to his knees in front of the couch Luke was sitting on. Luke embraced him and they both cried in each other's hands.

The older man pressed their foreheads together and kissed Luke passionately. "We can get married now baby."

Luke's eyes gleamed with tears and happiness. "I love you so much."

Michael kissed him again. "Me too. I'm so happy I can't even describe it."

A buzzing sound interrupted their intimate moments.

"It's my mum," Luke whispered.

"Answer. Tell her I say hi."

"Mumma?" Luke answered all teary again.

Michael left him there with the excuse he went to the bathroom. He heard Luke cry some more to his mother about just how happy he was, they were.

When Michael found what he was looking for he returned and Luke smiled brightly at him.

"Mum says hi back."

Once more Michael kneeled in front of Luke but this time he was holding a little box. A ring Michael let Luke choose on his eighteenth birthday, a ring with which he promised he'll propose when the time will be right.

Luke was taken by complete surprise when he saw the familiar piece of jewelry he hadn't seen for over three years.

"Mum?" Luke whispered. "I'm going to get married."
