i really like this guardian angel idea so this is irl version but i'll make another one with an 'actual' angels in them. (:

Luke locked up the door behind the shop before picking up the large bags of trash he had to take out and then he'd be free for the weekend.

He really wanted to buy himself a new guitar and since there wasn't much to study for he picked up a few more shifts at his uncle's eco produce store. It was late but on Fridays, charities would come and pick up the extra produce that wasn't bough and they donated to shelters.

When he started to walk towards the trash bins he could hear somebody following him and Luke smiled and threw his keys on the floor.

It was impossible for him to pick them up without letting the trash bags down.

"Michael? Would you mind and help me out?"

Luke slowly turned back and saw the black-haired boy step out of the shadows.

He was dressed in an all-black outfit with a black beanie on his head looking like a criminal.

The shame and embarrassment of being caught were written all over his face but he quickly walked over and picked Luke's keys.

"Thank you." Luke smiled.

Michael offered a shy smile back. "Can I help you?" He asked eagerly.

"You can." Luke nodded. "Just first, I need to know why you've been following me for a week straight. Like you're always nice to me but if you want to be near me you could always come inside the store and not hand out near it."

If Luke knew one thing was that Michael was harmless, the sweetest kid, but even he needed a reason to follow Luke to his car every evening and then leave.

"How did you realize I was there?"

"Calum saw you twice in the café across the road and my uncle has security cameras. He asked if I knew you and to be careful."

Michael took a few bags from Luke's hand and started slowly walking towards the bins. Luke followed since there wasn't much else he could do.

"You should be careful." Was all the older boy said and Luke stopped.

"Michael I want actual answers. Or not only I'll never let you explain again but you'll have to find another Chemistry partner too."

The horror on Michael's face made the corner of Luke's lip twitch. Michael was too easy to manipulate, not that he enjoyed it but he needed to know what Michael was up to.

Michael looked down at his shoes before looking at Luke's baby blue eyes.

"I've overheard the basketball team the other day, they've been talking about you. Will was bragging that you sucked his dick and-"

Luke rolled his eyes, Will would ask him to send him nudes every day but only by messages. Whenever Luke would as much as look at him in school he'd hide.

"They said that maybe they should all try your... skills." Michael scrunched his nose and Luke could see how upset he was. "Wren said he knew where you worked and I just wanted to make sure you'd come home okay."

"You're an angel you know that?" Luke said right after Michael stopped talking making him blush. "A strange one but I truly appreciate it. I'm just not sure if your intention was to follow me around for the rest of your life or?"

Michael shook his head. "I wanted to tell you, you know? I-it's just takes a bit more courage than I have. I would tell Calum but he's friends with some of them and if he'd tell that I heard them they'd beat me up."

Luke frowned and started walking, making sure Michael followed him. "Thank you. I know you're shy but you shouldn't ever be scared to come and talk to me. I like you, I consider us friends. I already told you this Michael, you're more than welcome to come and sit with me at lunchtime. Okay?"

Michael nodded. "Okay."

They dropped the bags into the bins.

"Do you need a ride home?"

"I can walk." The older boy responded. He was already talking louder and more clear than he was five minutes ago.

"You made sure I would come home safe, let me do the same for you, okay?"

Michael smiled and nodded. "Okay."
