Soulmate au: when you're near your soulmate for the first time you get a date on your wrist when you'll see them again
•••
Michael was twenty-three years old and still didn't meet his soulmate. He wasn't too sad about it. There were plenty of people who haven't met their significant other yet and he also didn't mind sleeping with a few of them.
Instead of love, Michael focused his energy on music. He loved singing, playing guitar, and going to concerts.
When he woke up after the best night of his life Michael didn't know it could get any better but it did. After seeing his favorite artist, singing, and dancing until he couldn't move anymore, he woke up with a moving ink under his wrist.
27.11.2018
Michael was ready.
He wasn't nervous, he was old enough, had a job and the mindset to meet someone.
So, in three days, on Tuesday he'll meet someone he saw at the concert and that will be it. That person will be his forever.
Calum, his best friend, who was at the concert with him found all possible pictures from the crowd that day and made Michael pick the ones who looked the most attractive.
For a moment, Michael thought about taking a day off from work but maybe he'll meet them there.
Like every workday, he woke up at six. Got ready and took the train to work.
He carefully observed people's faces, searching for somebody who was looking for him.
Michael asked people in his life, how he'll be sure the person will be the one. Apparently, he'll just know.
Work has passed and he spent most of the afternoon wandering around the town but no luck.
There was no one in the crowd who stood up to him, no one made him feel complete.
"What should I do?" Michael asked his best friend, who he called when he returned home. There were two hours left of the date written on his hand. He checked multiple times to see if the numbers will change but they didn't.
Calum was as lost as him. He met his soulmate on his morning run. "Try to call different delivery services? Maybe your soulmate delivers pizza?"
If the occasion would be different Michael would smile but he was getting more and more upset by the minute.
"I'll go on a walk. The bar that took care of catering on the night of the concert is across the park."
"You'll meet them, Michael. Don't worry too much."
Due to the late hour, the park was empty and Michael didn't bother looking around too much. He walked this path almost every day and there were barely any people there during the day.
He left his phone at home. He didn't want to check the time every minute that passed and he still hadn't met his special someone.
