"Charlie," Luke said. "This is my boyfriend Michael."
"Oh my god." The thirteen-year-old repeated.
Michael was standing in front of the door and was a bit confused over what was going on.
"Dad, why didn't you tell me that the Michael you're dating is King Clifford."
Both older men visibly relaxed at Luke's son's words. For a second Michael was sure he'll comment on how he's too old for having red hair.
He reached his hand towards the boy. "It's nice to meet you, Charlie."
"I didn't know you know who Michael is," Luke explained. And lied. He checked Michael online before their first date but it was only after a couple of months of dating before he saw his son watching Michael's streams.
"I mean he's only the best Overwatch streamer."
"That's nice of you to say." Michael laughed when Luke finally pulled him into their apartment.
"Did dad told you I have a gaming room?" Charlie asked with excitement.
Luke corrected his son. "It's a study room."
"I'd love to see it."
Charlie walked across the room and started explaining how his friends will be jealous when they'll hear the news.
"That went better than I expected." Michael laughed and took Luke's hand before they followed the teenage boy.
Luke nodded and kissed his boyfriend's cheek. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you he knows who you are."
"No, it's cool. Amazing even. I was so nervous before I came here and if I'd knew I'd be a bit too confident."
The room was small and it was clearly more of a study room than a gaming room but it was better than what Michael had when he was Charlie's age.
Besides many bookshelves, the piano, and a massive work desk the only gaming related items were the expensive gaming chair Michael gave to Luke and a decent computer. Definitely better than what Luke would need for his job.
Michael carefully listened to Charlie as he told him all about his favorite games and other streamers and YouTubers he liked.
"I'll let you two alone so I can get us something to drink."
The red-haired man wasn't too worried about it since everything was going so well.
But he was proven wrong the moment Luke left the room. Charlie pushed the door so it almost closed behind his dad.
"Now listen, Michael."
The curly blond, who had Luke's hair and nose but deep brown eyes and was a lot shorter than he was, stepped closer to him.
"I may like you because you're cool and it's a plus that you make dad happy, but if you ever." He pointed a finger to his chest. "Ever hurt my dad."
He stepped on his tippy toes to be closer to Michael's height. "I'll destroy you."
"Understood," Michael replied calmly. "I'd never intentionally hurt your dad."
"Don't do it unintentionally either."
He smiled. "I won't. Plus, your dad is much cooler than me. Playing video games for a living is much less cool than teaching small humans. I mean they're mean; your dad is a hero."
That made Charlie laugh. "True."
They both could hear Luke was returning and Michael wanted to move away from his son so it wouldn't look like the boy was threatening him.
"Also." Charlie whisper shouted. "Never do anything nasty while I'm home. You're only allowed to do anything else besides kissing when I'm at mum's house."
Michael laughed. "We won't."
"Who won't what?" Luke asked when he came into the room with a tray with snacks and drinks.
"I won't go easy on Charlie while I'll destroy him at Mario Kart."
Luke laughed but behind his back, Charlie and Michael shared a serious look.
At the end of the day, they not only bonded over their love for video games but also over their love of Luke.
