I did this last year. It's mental awareness month so here's a bit more serious but still cute one shot. If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here.

Luke wiped his hands with the kitchen towel and looked at the progress he made in the last hour.

It was Saturday and he had no other plans so he decided to clean the apartment. In reality, he had plans, very exciting ones but like the rest of his and Michael's activities for the week got canceled.

He glanced at the hour to calculate how long it's been since the last time he saw his boyfriend. It's been close to five hours and it seemed like an eternity to Luke. He poured a glass of lemonade he made and walked to their shared bedroom.

Quietly, he knocked on the door. As expected there was no answer.

Luke pushed the door open and had to blink a few times to see as the blinds were closed and no lights were on.

Michael was sitting on the bed, exactly where Luke had seen him last.

He had the TV on but muted, his gaming laptop was also turned on and on his lap, he was holding a book but was looking at his phone. Luke guessed he was looking at memes or funny cat videos.

"Michael?" Luke knew he should leave Michael alone but he missed him. A lot.

When Michael turned to him and smiled Luke's heart started beating faster and he was feeling happier already.

"Hi, babe." He looked at the glass Luke brought with him. "Is that for me?"

Luke nodded and walked over to the bed. Michael took the lemonade and sipped on it. He then placed the glass on the bedside table and pushed everything to Luke's side of the bed. He managed to make some space and pulled his boyfriend down.

"I'm sorry for bothering you," Luke mumbled, squished against Michael's neck. Michael smelled a bit but he didn't care.

Michael laughed and it was like music to Luke's ears. "Bothering me? I've been locked in a room doing absolutely nothing for a week. I mean besides crying and feeling sorry for myself."

"Shh." Luke stopped him. "You're sad. You're allowed to cry."

"I love being sad for no reason," Michael replied with a sarcastic tone.

"You're hurting Mikey. And you're a human."

It was always the same, whenever days would come when Michael just couldn't function he started blaming himself for everything. Luke heard millions of stories of how he should be grateful to have Luke and the life he has and not spend days inside and cry.

Luke thought otherwise.

"It's just." Michael started to tear up again and as much as Luke hated seeing him like that he knew it was a process of healing. "I was thinking of us getting married and having kids in the last few years. But I wouldn't be a good father. I mean, I doubt anyone would even let me adopt a kid?"

Luke looked up. "You're really thinking about that?"

"Of course." Michael placed his hand on Luke's cheek. "You're it for me, Luke. I found what many people spend eternities looking for. There's nothing more I wish for that a life with you."

Luke smiled widely and pressed his lips against Michael's.

"There's nothing I want more either. You make me the happiest Michael. I hope you know that. Your illness doesn't define you and I'm sure everyone who knows you know how great you are."

Michael smiled, actually smiled, for the first time in days. It was the kind of smile that reached his eyes and made them glow. The kind of smile that made Luke feel like everything it's going to be alright.

I love you all, a lot, lot.

As said above, you can always talk to me or if you need to talk, find someone to talk to. Talking helps.
