Michael absolutely loved his job.

Dozens of ballerinas would sit on his makeup chair as he prepared them for their performance.

As the line was getting shorter Michael knew his favorite dancer will soon sit in front of him.

The makeup artist was working for the ballet house for the past six months and working with Luke was one of Michael's favorite pleasures. Not that the boy needed much makeup for either his role or to make him look any prettier. With the exception of a few acne scars he was absolutely stunning and Michael made sure to bring it out with the makeup.

As much as he loved making people feel beautiful he always complimented the natural beauty of the ballerinas. It was his way to give them that little boost of confidence before the show.

Luke spent the least time on the chair so he always came last.

He hugged Michael like he always did and sat down. Michael could see he was nervous which was unusual for the boy whose second name should be confidence.

"Is there anything wrong, love?"

Luke looked up and bit his lip. "Remember the magazine our play was featured in last week?"

Michael nodded. They even mentioned his name which never happened in magazines like that.

"Well, it turns out there are people in the audience that came just to see me dance."

"Luke, that's wonderful." The older man was over the moon proud of him, in his opinion, no one deserved it more than Luke did.

"But... Then I'd have to leave my friends, you know how business is, the higher you climb the meaner people get. And I'd had to leave you. Who'll do my makeup so perfectly?"

Luke was on the verge of tears but Michael started laughing. He carefully grabbed Luke's chin and made him look up.

"Babe, that's what you've been dreaming of ever since you first put those shoes on. You're an amazing dancer who deserves to be recognized. Go out there and do your best, you'll still have us cheering for you here."

He leaned down and embraced Luke who was more than grateful for the hug.

"When I'll get famous I'll hire you as my own makeup artist."

Michael moved back and kissed Luke's forehead before putting more powder on it the second later.

"I'll be counting on that."
