Heath's P.O.V
I had spent my morning in the office of my real estate agent I had used for this house as well as my landlord. I got lucky in the sense that I would only have to pay for next month's rent as the property was definitely going to be able to have a new renter come in in a split second, so my landlord wasn't worried about finding a new tenant. I had called Amber to tell her about the good news and although she was happy for me, I could tell she was still sad. "Baby, don't be sad! I don't want you spending your last weekend here regretting it."
"I know... I'm still just off about this whole thing." She sighed, the sound of the courtroom behind her filling up the speaker. "Hey, I gotta go. We will talk later, okay? I love you."
"Yeah, I'll pick you up. Wear something... Loose. Like that red dress. I'll scoop you at eight." I hung up the phone, driving over to Elton's house to begin setting up my surprise.

"Already though?" Zane raised an eyebrow as he used the helium tank I had bought to pump up another balloon. I shrugged as he handed it to me and I tied a string around the end. "I thought she wouldn't be leaving for at least another week or so."
"She literally waited until the last possible minute to accept this shit." I shook my head, low key mad at her for doing so. "I don't blame her, it just made me mad."
"Ever think the real reason was just because she's jealous?" Zane asked, almost causing me to laugh. "Or worried."
"What would she-" I looked over to where Zane was looking and saw Katie on the floor drawing a large banner that read 'Goodbye, for now' as she was the only one with artistic ability besides myself in the household currently. I stared at her body, not used to how conservatively and dark she dresses as opposed to how she used to. She wore a large, oversized, black hoodie from Scott's merch line as well as a pair of black leggings. She wore white socks with pineapples all over them, making me smile as I remembered when she bought them and how excited she was. I looked back at Zane who was giving me a knowing look. "I love Amber. Katie and I are just friends. What about you and her, by the way?"
"We haven't spoken, really." He shrugged, frowning. "She told me how she wanted her back to her roots and being happy and then... We haven't spoken after that. I think it's because she knows I'm with Andrea and she doesn't like it."
"Does anyone?" I joked, earning a slap with a balloon.

Amber had nearly lost it when she saw that all of us were here. She was currently dancing with the girls, smiling and waving at me every so often. I was immensely proud of how well everyone and I decorated the place and got it going for her. I had left Zane and Todd to go grab something to eat from the kitchen when I saw Katie and Elton in there alone.
I frowned, standing at the doorway as I watched them giggle at each other. Katie had changed into a black t-shirt with holes all over it and a black bandeau underneath with the same leggings and socks as before. Her hair was in loose waves falling all over and I admired the color on her before reality hit me. If she touches his arm when she laughs, she likes him.
I watched her giggle at something else he had said, Elton admiring her like she was a piece of meat. And just when I thought she wouldn't, she grabbed his bicep to steady herself as she laughed harder at him. I watched as he slipped a hand around her side and I immediately turned around, not wanting to see the rest.
I went back to the boys though I was really watching Amber. Her smile was lighting her up as well as everyone around her. Her eyes locked with mine and I smiled as she motioned for me to come and dance with her. After shaking my head multiple times, no, she came over to me and grabbed onto my hands. She got close to my face, a fate smell of liquor coming from her breath as she whispered. "Your ass forced me to have a party, so at least dance with me."
