     Katie's P.O.V
For the remainder of the night, I had tried to convince Heath to allow me to take him to the hospital. Although he kept telling me he was just in a state of shock, I wasn't able to get the mental image of him rapidly blinking his eyes. I was sure he was having a seizure, though the paramedic had told me he wouldn't of been able to recover as fast as he did when the police arrived to hear his story. 'Just keep an eye on him. He's too young for a heart attack, but he's old enough to have heart issues' was the only advice I was able to wring from the male EMT. Although, I think it was more of a hint than advice.
We were currently in an Uber back to Heath's apartment. Elton had taken a separate car, urging me to text him the moment I needed to let anything off of my chest. I thanked him wholeheartedly, even though I was sure that he wouldn't be the first person I turned to. I placed my hand on Heath's thigh, tracing circles into his inner thigh, slightly moving his beige cargo shorts with each trace of my pointer finger. "Want to grab something from Menchie's? My treat."
"I'm going out with Zane." Heath stated rather quickly for my taste. He kept his eyes fixed out the window, his hands together in between his legs. I attempted to move my hand to grab his hand when he dodged it, adjusting his glasses. I began to feel uncomfortable, moving back closer to my window and beginning to watch the moving cars outside of it.

     One Week Later
I attempted to call Heath for the third time today, being sent to voicemail. I settled for tecting him which, to my surprise, he was already doing. 'Sorry girl I'm in Stella's ordering with Kam' was how it was typed however all I could read was him calling me 'girl' over and over again. "I got demoted from 'babygirl' to fucking 'girl'. He calls you girl."
"Calm down!" Gabbie rolled her eyes, swatting me with the magazines she was clenching in between her hands. She went back to reading it as we sat in the waiting room of her doctor's. "You're giving me anxiety. I'm here to get pills for this bullshit."
My legs bounced up and down as I made brief eye contact with the middle aged woman across from me, earning a smug look as it seemed she pulled her pocketbook a little bit closer to her side and away from my view. I turned back to Gabbie, whispering harshly. "I'm telling you, something is up. He-"
"Gabrielle Hanna!" A younger assistant opened the door to the offices, smiling brightly at Gabbie. "Good to see you again!"
"You too, Deb." She smiled lightly as she stood up, picking up her bag. Gabbie bent down to eye level with me, whispering angrily as she pointed her finee in my face. "Your boyfriend just witnessed a rotting corpse of some chick in front of him. Don't you act like this is about you! Stop being a selfish bitch and go speak to him."

"Are you okay? You're not even eating your fries." I raised an eyebrow, shoving a handful of fries into my mouth as I sat in Big Red next to Heath.
"Watching my figure." Heath smirked, eating a piece of his burger. I stopped chewing, turning my body to face his as he sighed. "I'm okay, baby. Honestly."
I knew Heath well enough not to push the topic too much or I wouldn't get anywhere. I changed the subject, shrugging my shoulders. "How was your little date with Kam?" Heath raised an eyebrow at me. "Stella's for lunch?"
A lightbulb went off in Heath's head as I watched the gears in his head begin to shift as he came up with his lie. "Oh, yeah! It was tight, we got a few rounds of brews and the pizza... Babe, the margarita was on point today!"
I pushed the doubts out of my mind, attempting to take Gabbie's advice. Through a tight smile, I rubbed his shoulder as I spoke. "I'm happy for you. You deserve to have some boys time."
Heath smiled, kissing my head as he tilted his head. I pulled my hand back, continuing to eat as I felt him stare at me silently. Looking back up, for a brief moment, I caught the look of regret in his eyes. Though, they soon returned back to their warm glow and I could help but wonder why is he acting like I did when I was seeing Zane?
