Katie's P.O.V
I found a small slot machine across from where Heath was playing poker to occupy myself. He had become too absorbed in the game and I had quickly given up attempting to gain his attention back, so I decided looking at a gaudy machine that was older than me would be more sufficient. I felt a hand brush my upper back before sitting to my right. As I pulled the lever down on the machine, I met Zane's eyes. "Amazing we don't go to Vegas yet we still end up in a casino, huh?"
I laughed, rolling my eyes as my attention went back to the game. I rolled enough to make back the coins I put into the machine, but no profit. I rolled again, sighing. "Do you think... do you think Amber... never mind."
"Heath is nuts over you, Katie." Zane put a hand on my shoulder and I refused to break eye contact with the machine as he continued to speak. "I know about her being... Her... But I can promise you that his eyes could never wander."
"You mean it?" I frowned, still unconvinced. My heart fluttered as I won a hundred. Though, I bet again as I wanted to be ballsy.
"I know it." Zane rolled his eyes at me, leaning back in his chair. "Come on. I'm hungry and our table is almost ready."
After losing, I frowned, grabbing my bucket from the floor underneath my feet and walking away with my small batch of coins. We went to the group that was now surrounding Heath at the table, watching his every move. I pushed past Kristen to wrap my arms around his shoulders from behind. I felt his lips touch my hands quickly, appreciating my gesture, though he stayed focused on the game. I peeled away slightly only to see everyone begin to reveal their hand. Almost instantly, Heath popped screaming as the dealer declared him the winner. He spun around and I high fives him with both hands, laughing. He screamed in my face, joyfully. "Fifty thousand, baby! Fifty! Do you hear me?"
Heath reaches over me to a pair of arms that were happily outstretched to him. I looked over, seeing Amber smirk at me as she wrapped her arms around his waist. I saw them trail lower, her eyes never leaving mine, before Heath broke away to jump at Zane. David shoved his camera in Heath's face, giggling like a school girl at the content he was getting, as he used my left shoulder to lean in and get a better shot. I felt him stumbling as he got on his toes and held onto his hand tightly to balance him, leaving Amber's glare. David looked down, smiling at me to thank me, before looking back in his view finder.
Zane kept screaming as we began to walk away, Heath quickly collecting his earnings. "That's my baby! My baby won the big moneys'! I'm so proud!"
I laughed, looking back at Heath who was smiling at something Amber had said to him. Her arm was at the small of his back and I couldn't make out what she was saying before Gabbie blocked my view. "Stop. Zane and I are going to end up sending you back home, alone."
"I'm telling you, I don't trust her. I don't." Gabbie rolled her eyes at me, irking me.
"Calm down and be proud of your boo for his money." Gabbie turned me around by my shoulders, continuing to walk me out of the casino with the group and to the dock to walk to our dinner location. "I guarantee you'll forget by the end of the trip."
