We were all in the midst of packing for the trip home when I felt a pair of arms snake around my lower waist. I smiled, knowing the familiar pair of arms. We began to lightly sway as I felt a blast of light air hit the side of my neck from his mouth that soon began to trail from my earlobe to my shoulder.
I went to turn around and meet Heath's lips, but he held onto my hips, not allowing me to shift. He brushed all my hair to my left shoulder, leaving a small lovebite on the lower part of the back of my neck. I laughed softly, pulling away from his grasp as if to tell him silently to stop teasing me. As I did so, he lowered his chin onto my shoulder, after kissing the crook of my neck.
"I'm happy I'm with you." I said softly, spinning around to meet his gaze. Our lips instinctively locked together and I felt my chest warm up as it pressed against his.
I wrapped my arms around his neck to bring him closer to me, smiling against his lips. An alarm went off in my mind as I began to remember the taste that was the n my lips. It was not of cigarettes and mint gum in an effort to hide said cigarettes. It was of Diet Coke and twizzlers. I snapped my head away, opening my eyes to see Zane's face staring down at me.
"Katie! Katie!" I jolted up to see Heath hovering over my body in a panic. "Jesus Christ! What kind of nightmare were you having?"
My body went numb as I held back the overwhelming urge to tell Heath everything that had just gone on in my mind until I saw the look in his eyes. I then melted, remembering what happened the first time he found out about Zane and I. "Sorry. It was... Something with Nathan. Totally irrelevant now. I think it's because I'm reading this new book and that's one of the characters. Is it time to get up?"
"I, ugh, yeah." Heath furrowed his brows, knowing fully well I wasn't telling the truth. "I already packed your shit for you. You just need to get dressed."
I pulled his face closer to mine, kissing him deeply. When he pulled back, he stared at me confused. I brushed it off, smiling and kissing his cheek before getting up to throw on an outfit. I rummaged through my packed luggage, grabbing a pair of black crew socks and my black, fuzzy, Puma slides. Slipping then on, I adjusted the waistband of my black leggings and matching tank top before grabbing my oversized, olive green hoodie. Zipping up my bag, I threw it onto the bed as I threw it on, zipping it up to my chest. Heath walked in front of me as I was throwing my head in a messy bun, placing his hands gently on my shoulders. "You sure you're okay, baby?"
"I'm fine, why?" I raised an eyebrow, only half looking up at him.
"You said Zane's name in your sleep."
