     Katie's P.O.V
I had just gotten off the phone with Elton, having just planned to film yet another TFIL video in the upcoming months. I was heading over to Heath's for a lunch date when I got a FaceTime call from Amber. I placed her on the phone dock in my car before hitting the accept button while rounding the corner of Heath's street. "What's up, dude?"
"Can we please discuss how Scott has the balls to have Corinna over the house with Jason and Todd there?" I went to interject when she continued to pipe off. "Will told me because he stopped by the house to drop off meal plans for the boys."
"Meal plans?" I raised an eyebrow, looking from my peripheral at her.
"The boys wanted to get in shape properly. That's not important right now, girl!" Amber put a hand out to stop me from getting sidetracked, trying to hold back slight laughter. Her expression went serious again, her brows furrowing angrily as I watched her adjust her sitting position on her all white couch. "I can't believe this. I feel guilty just knowing about all of this."
"Take it from me, inserting yourself will only make the entire situation worse and blow up in your face." I shook my head aimlessly, heading into the parking garage and sliding in between Zane's Jeep and Big Red. I sighed, looking at Amber as I wiped my hands nervously on the tops of my thighs as if to smooth out my imaginary pants. "I know how badly it hurts to keep this from Kristen. I also know how badly it'll end up if you are the one to open your mouth. Do yourself a favor and act like nothing has happened. Gabbie, Heath, and I will keep our mouths shut..." I looked down, grabbing the bag of sushi that was on the passenger's seat and putting it on my lap.
"How can you be so sure?" I looked at Amber with a knowing look, waiting for her to catch the hint. "No, I get it. I mean, you didn't cheat on him... But I get it. I just... Was it hard for you? Being isolated, I mean?"
"You don't know true loneliness until it happens to you. The feeling of one day being surrounded by beautiful faces that support you until the end and than watching it wipe away like it's a dry erase board... It's excruciating." I watched Amber's eyes go glossy and I'm sure mine did as well. "Truth be told, I would do it all again. It made Heath and I stronger. But I also don't know if I would ever get lucky enough to have him back in my life if it happened again."
"I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry." Amber ran her right hand through her hair, landing on the crook of her neck and tilting her head to lean on the top of her hand. "I trust you. I won't say a word."
"Like I said, it's for the best. None of us will say shit." I turned the car off, holding my keys in my hand tightly. "The truth always comes out, Amber. This will blow up soon. And when it does, sit back and watch it happen. Once it's over, than we pick up the pieces."

"She can handle it." Heath waved a hand as he talked with a mouthful of salmon and soy sauce, hunched over his laptop at the kitchen island. I had explained the entire phone call with Amber, a grey cloud hanging over my head from it. "I'm telling you, the girl is stronger than you think. She's been through more shit than anyone I-" Heath glanced over at me, smiling awkwardly. "She's the second person that's been through more shit than anyone."
"If you say so." I rolled my eyes, popping in a piece of a cucumber and avocado roll. I covered my mouth as I spoke through the large sum of food inside of it. "Remember to get your tickets for Wyoming."
"Can't you go?" I opened my eyes, surprised at the distain in Heath's voice. "I don't really want to run up and down cliffs again."
"Yeah, but you never ran up and down cliffs with me." I teased, wrapping my arms around his right bicep. I kissed the top of his shoulder, resting my chin where I had planted my lips. I batted my eyelashes, speaking sweetly, as I watched him slowly crack. "Please? It'll be fun. And if you do it, I'll give you an extra special surprise."
"If I do this, I want whipped cream and cherries." Heath said firmly, though in his baby voice. I gave him a thumbs up. "I also want the black lace, not the red. That shit looks good."
I laughed, unleashing his arm from my grasp. "I appreciate you having plans for the bedroom when the last time we did shit, you called it a mistake." I watched Heath get sad and I laughed, pushing him playfully. "I'm kidding! Yes, fine. Whatever you want, daddy."
"You're fucking foul, choke on your sushi, bitch." Heath fake gagged, hating the use of the nickname for him. "But seriously... Why don't you and I have a real date tomorrow? Candlelit dinner, ice cream whenever you want, and SVU all night over here."
"Change candlelit to Panera, ice cream to Starbucks, and SVU to Criminal Minds and you got yourself a deal." Heath smiled, leaning over to kiss me quickly. When he retracted, I spoke softly, grazing his lips softly. "I don't want to get fancy and pretend like we have to be perfect. I like us just how we are."
