"You really have to be fucking me." I put my hands over my mouth in a state of shock, shaking my head aimlessly. Heath sat on the couch next to Gabbie, not being able to peel his eyes off of the screen. I stormed over to the kitchen counter, grabbing my iPad quickly. I quickly began to scroll through my contacts, getting ready to Facetime David when Heath ripped the machine from my hands. "Excuse me? I-"
"You aren't getting yourself into more unnecessary shit. If Kristen and Scott have an issue, they can complain about it to him. This isn't your battle still." I frowned, knowing he was right. He got behind me, holding onto my shoulders, and walking forward with me. We walked towards the staircase as he spoke into my ear, attempting to calm me down. "Go get dressed and we will grab some brunch. We can even go to that stupid little French shit you think is cute."
I smiled, looking over my shoulder quickly, before jogging up the stairs. I quickly threw on a white, crop top, t-shirt with a pair of looser, light wash denim, overall shorts. I slid on my black and white checkered Vans classics, slipping my phone into my side pocket. As I jogged back down the stairs, I threw my hair into a high-ponytail, a few loose strands peeking out randomly. Heath smiled at me, breaking off his conversation with Gabbie, to go up to my room and change. I looked over at Gabbie who gave me a knowing look and I shook my head. "We're waiting."
"It's not like he's taking your fucking virginity." Gabbie half whispered, half yelled at me. I rolled my eyes as she continued. "You two used to have more sex than porn stars and now you two decide to take it slow?"
I whispered lower, hoping Heath wasn't listening in. "Truth be told, I haven't had birth control since... You know... Because I just haven't. I wan't to get the IUD so I don't have to even think about taking that fucking pill, but I'm terrified to get it done."
"I think you'll be fine. I love mine." Gabbie laughed, shrugging, just as Heath came down the stairs.
"You love what?" Heath asked, buttoning up his shirt from the night before as Charlie scratched the side of his leg for attention.
I went to say a lie before Gabbie cut me off, smirking at herself. "Katie wanted to look into getting an IUD so she can rattle your bones like she used to."
Heath's face turned a shade of pink I had never witnessed before. He fixed his hair, throwing it under his hat, and clearing his throat as his eyes twitched nervously. "Uhm, that would, uhm... Yeah. Your body, your choice, girl!"
I blinked in the silence, nearly hearing the liquid replenish my retinas as I tried to burn the image of this event out of my mind. I quickly stood up, pulling my shorts down from riding up, and walked towards the front door. "I want a fucking buttered croissant."

"I think it would be a good idea." Heath stated as we drove down the road in Big Red, nothing but the classic rock station filling our ears from the traumatizing morning still weighing on both of our heads. I glanced at him, looking back at the road. "I mean, I think it would be nice to not have to worry about having a baby in the future accidentally, you know?"
I know more than you think, buddy. "Yeah, I agree. I just also didn't think we would be doing anything for a while, so..."
"It would be nice for you to not bitch and moan about how you hate the feeling and smell of latex in the future." Heath smirked, moving his hand to the top of my left thigh.
Heath squeezed my thigh, trying to get me to smile. I rolled my eyes, sighing as I threw my hand on top of his. "Fine. I'll call the gyno while we eat."
